The whirlwind of coming back from vacation into the buzz of parish ministry can be a little bitoverwhelming at times...add to this the beginning of the parish school year and the manyother items surrounding this can be a little bit stressful. Dump on all the normal things thecontinued revelations and discussions about the abuse and misconduct by priests andbishops and it almost makes you want to not get out of bed in the morning. The reality of theenergy draining nature of the sadness of the sins of bishops and priests. Health Fair Volunteers are needed both Saturday and Sunday, please contact Brook Munguia to RSVP 408-431-9923Saturday (Blood drive) help is needed for clean up (time 3:30-4:30pm)Sunday Health fair:-2 to 4 volunteers for set up of canopy tents and tables and chairs (9am-10am)-2 to 4 volunteers to just float in the parking lot and to be around in case people have questions (10am-12pm and12pm-2pm)-2 to 4 volunteers to make signs to help promote, set up easels and placement of signs, get balloons to draw attention (9:45am)- 1 to 2 volunteers to make name tags for people helping with fair- 2-4 volunteers to manage a St Lucy Table-4-6 volunteers to help with clean up (1:45pm-2:30pm)
SVDP/Outreach We are looking for volunteers that can devote two hours a week between 10 am and 11:45 am tohelping those in need. We especially need bilingual volunteers (English and Spanish). If you are interested stop bythe Outreach Office or call and leave your contact information at 408-378-8086. Pantry Needs: Jelly, Peanut Butterand Spaghetti.

Ombudsman Orientation at Catholic Charities Tuesday August 28
"Y ou cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."- Ralph Waldo EmersonIt's not too late to become a Long Term Care Ombudsman with Catholic Charities. An Ombudsman is a trained andstate-certified individual who investigates complaints and resolvesproblems for residents of long term care facilities. The Ombudsman visits nursing homes and assisted livingfacilities. Successful completion of training and certification by the State ofCalifornia is required.
Orientation is Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 10:00 am to Noon. Training dates are listed on the CatholicCharities website www.catholiccharitiesscc.org click on the VOLUNTEER banner and then go toVolunteer Opportunities.
