Winter is still with us! The cold temperatures have kept the kids inside for recess most of the week. I think everyone is going a little stir crazy being cooped up all day. The good news is that every day is a day closer to spring. We do have several events coming up in the next few weeks. The Wyoming Youth Retreat in Casper the 14th & 15th; No school on the 17th to celebrate Presidents Day. Ash Wednesday and the County Spelling Bee the 26th. Registration for returning students and siblings, for next year, will begin on March 1st. Also, with spring comes the season of Lent and then Easter. In school we are beginning to prepare for these most holy sea- sons. As I have been preparing, I came across a question that I have been asking myself for a long time. That question is: What is the Holy Spirit? I finally found an answer on mycatholic.life. What is the Holy Spirit? What is the Holy Spirit? Good question. Its easy to think of the Holy Spirit as a powerful force from God. Or a mysterious aspect of Gods life. Its confusing to many. So, what is the Holy Spirit? The proper question is not whatbut Who.Who is the Holy Spiritis the right question because the Holy Spirit is a Person. A divine Person. Equal in dignity and majesty with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is one member of the Holy Trinity. As a Person, the Holy Spirit is one we can be in relation with. We can know and love the Holy Spirit just as we know and love the Father and the Son. And the Spirit loves us just as He loves the Father and the Son. Personhood means there is potential for love and union. The Holy Spirit has an intel- lect and will and with those characteristics freely knows and loves as God. At the beginning of time, we were slowly made aware of the reality of God the Father. The Great I AM. It was revealed to us through the prophets and patriarchs that there was one God and only one. But as time passed, we were also made aware of the Messiah who was the Son of God. As we came to know this Son, in the person of Jesus, we came to realize that He also was I AM. He also was God. Then the Son began to reveal to us that He would send His Advocate, the Holy Spirit. And we came to realize that this Holy Spirit is also God, also I AM. Confused? We shouldnt be. This was Gods way of slowly revealing the full truth of Who He is over time. He is One, yet He is also Three. One God, three divine Persons. It is the Holy Spirit who is given to us in baptism. At that time, we are made adopted children of the Father, we are made one in Jesus the Son, and we are filled with the Holy Spirit to live out our new Christian calling as sons and daughters of God in Christ Jesus. It is the role of the Holy Spirit to enkindle within us the grace we need in order to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and to know the Father as our Father. The Holy Spirit makes us who we are as Christians. These are the kind of things we need to pass along to our students. Walk In The Light Of The Lord, Nick Schafer. St. Margaret's will be hosting the Jr. High Discipleship Retreat on March 7-8. We are in need of many items that could be donated from our parishioners. Some things that you may have laying around that we could use would be WORKING Christmas lights, firewood, boxes, paint shirts (old Large or XL shirts, clean), candles (real & LED), streamers, acrylic paint & supplies, table clothes, white spray paint, snacks, heavy plates & plastic din- nerware. What is the Holy Spirit?

What is the Holy Spirit? Good question. It’s easy to think of the Holy Spirit as a powerful force from God. Or a mysterious aspect of God’s life. It’s confusing to many. So, what is the Holy Spirit? The proper question is not “what” but “Who.” “Who is the Holy Spirit” is the right question because the Holy Spirit is a Person. A divine Person. Lenten Soup Suppers/Fish Fry & Stations of the Cross -

There will be soup suppers at 6:00 p.m. every Friday during Lent starting February 28 until

Good Friday, April 10, with 2 exceptions. The soup supper on Friday, March 20, is changed/moved to a carry-in dinner on Saturday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. (right after mass), and RCCW will be providing the main dish (fried chicken) while everyone else is encouraged to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share. Also, there will be a fish fry instead of a soup supper on Friday, March 27. The fish fry supper, hosted by the Knights of Colum-bus, is $12 for adults and $6 for children un-der 12 and includes a drink, fish, coleslaw, potato wedges, and a roll. All 7 of the Lenten suppers will be in the gym except for the supper on March 13 - which will be in Pate Hall. If you would like to host one of the soup suppers, bring food, or help in any other way, please contact Francesca at 856-6986. Each Friday during Lent there will also be Stations of the Cross in the church at 7:00 p.m.

The Parish Office will be closed on President’s Day

February 17, 2020.

“If you choose, you can keep the commandments . . be-fore you are life and death, whichever you choose shall be given you.” The Book of Sirach contains the clearest statement in the Old Testament concerning the God-given freedom of the human will. The author Sirach asserts that there should be no compromise with the prevailing culture when it comes to keeping God’s law. God seldom forces us to do good. It is our free choice to obey or disobey God’s laws, and we are responsible for the serious conse-quences of our choices. Life and death! We choose one or the other with our daily

lives. We know that we can talk a lot about God and not

do His will. We can observe rules without giving our

hearts to the Lord. But our God is a consuming fire and

wants us to give ourselves completely to Him. That is

why Jesus states, he does not abolish the laws and the

prophets but rather inclines to fulfill them. His fulfill-

ment of the laws and the prophets came to a reality when

he asked us to write and observe them in our hearts.
