Easter Sunday
The Resurrection of the Lord
April 12, 2020
The root of our Easter joy is in celebrating with
family and community the triumph of Jesus over
sin and death. How will that joy find concrete
expression in our lives? The risen life of Jesus is
given to us so that we can continue his ministry of
proclaiming good news to the poor, liberty to
captives, recovery of sight to the blind and a year
of favor from our God. On Monday will we go
back to business as usual or will we bring the joy
of the resurrection to our brothers and sisters still
living in the darkness of poverty, imprisonment
and want?
We are still taking sign-ups for Adoration.
Please sign-up online or fill out one of the forms in the Church.
As soon as we resume a normal worship schedule and we have all the adorers that we need we will
try to restart adoration in the church.
Dear Parishioners
First, I want to simply wish you all a very Blessed Easter. I had
such ambitious plans for this Easter season; but God had even bigger
plans. May God save us from the soul crushing boredom of our own plans.
I hope you gave yourself to the work of creatively
celebrating Holy Week at home and that this work has made Easter that
much more meaningful for you. I’m even hoping that you may have
discovered new ways to commemorate Holy Week and that you will
continue these in the years to come.
In so many ways our current situation still has the sense of
anticipation; as if we were in a prolonged Holy Saturday. Like Holy
Saturday, we are without the Sacraments, and so our candle light vigil
continues as we await that great day when we’ll come together again.
It’s going to be a very special occasion.
As part of that vigil, I want to begin having Adoration in the Church
in the coming weeks and we are so close to having enough people. We
just have a few hours that do not have enough committed adorers. I want
to invite all of you to sign up for adoration through our website or by
calling the church office. As soon as I have enough commitments I will
begin adoration in the Church.
Many Blessings to all of you.
Yours in Christ
Fr. Kurtis Wiedenfeld
