“Above all, put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.” (Col. 3:14)

Dear parishioners and friends, Happy Easter. We join the whole church – both on heaven and on earth – in the most joyous proclamation: Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. Hallelujah! "This is the day made by the Lord. Let us be glad and rejoice in it "(Ps 117: 24). The history of salvation culminates on this day, the first of the week. Jesus is a sign of contradiction: the one who was crucified is now alive His life is a scandal for everyone: death doesn’t hold us under its power. In Him, every struggle, every pain, every incredible thing finds its resolution. The scene is strikingly beautiful, yet full of mystery: The tomb is empty; a group of women, moving early in the day with their hearts full of sorrow, are looking for a dead man. They seem to have forgotten the Word that had warmed their hearts, the Word that had fascinated their lives. And now, someone challenges them: "Why do you search among the dead who is alive?" The Gospel of the Easter Vigil reveals to us a critical path. It reminds us that to reach Jesus in his truth, we must receive him from the Scriptures. Then we too can, as Saint Paul says, entrust our life to the grace of his Word: our life, guarded by a Word, can experience the resurrection of Jesus.

This is what the women did that day when the words of the angel reminded them. And the memory of Jesus' words makes these women the first apostles of the Resurrection: they returned to announce to the eleven what had happened at the tomb. Their voices continue to fill the earth with this proclamation. We, too, must act on this word: what are we going to do? Are we going to go and see what happened? Or are we staying home, leaving all things as they have been? A new life awaits for us, the life that God has given, and continues to provide us every day. It’s the life of the Resurrected One who lives in each one of us, empowering us to go beyond what we see and find the most incredible of all realities: the One who loves

us immensely changed our lives, allowing us to be transformed from within. Now, we can live as children of God! And by the way we love each other, we can witness to all people that “Jesus Christ is risen, indeed!”

We have been blessed with such good weather recently, that the work is continuing at St. Mary’s. They have blocked the foundation soon we will start to see the building grow. We will have our official Ground Breaking Ceremony on Monday, April 29th at Noon at St. Mary’s and all are welcome to attend.

we ask you to please fill out a card and place a zero in the amount. This way, the diocese will not waste money sending out follow up correspondence. As you know, this appeal help to fund the many diocese chari-ties and support.

Sharing the Gospel It was very early in the morning on Sunday. The tomb stone was rolled away. Jesus was gone. All that was left inside were the strips of linen cloth. When John and Pe-ter saw it, they were amazed. They did not understand all the promises the prophets wrote about Jesus yet. However, they knew he was alive. He had risen from the dead! Prayer God, I thank you for bringing Jesus back to life. Something to Draw Draw how surprised Peter and John were when they saw Jesus' empty tomb. MASS INTENTIONS

EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD

From the desk of Mark J. Record,

Principal…

Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is celebrat-ing the joy of the Easter Season through its Easter vacation that began Wednesday, April 17th at 12:10 p.m. School will resume on Monday, April 29th. May our risen Lord continue to bless our families, pastors, priests, fellow parishioners and the staffs of our eight supporting parishes. Blessed Easter to all! We are very proud of MaryAnn Rutzler (6th grade) and Henry Grote (8th grade) for participating in the Ocean City Berlin Optimist International Oratorical Contest on Wednesday, April 10. Over 80 orators competed at Stephen Decatur Middle School in front of a panel of judges. Both of our MBS students did an excellent job. The club has held this contest annually since 1973.

New Surface-Go Tablets Thank you to everyone who supported the 2018 M.B.S. car raffle. The proceeds were used to pur-chase 25 Surface Go Tablets and 3 iPad Pro Tablets. In addition, our school benefitted from federal Title I funding that was used to purchase eleven additional Surface Go Tablets through the Indian River School District. These tablets, along with the keyboards, were pur-chased using proceeds from the car raffle fundraiser during the 2017-18 school year. These tablets will be deployed to the 6th and 7th grade classes beginning next week. We were thrilled to see so many parishioners join us for our recent performances of Lion King, Jr. Your support is truly appreciated! It takes a village to make sure these shows run smoothly, and we are very grateful for everyone's help. Thank you to everyone involved in the production; it was a great show. Con-gratulations to our young actors and stage crew members for three outstanding performances. We are very proud of you!

I hope you are having A Healthy and Blessed Easter. Many wishes for all our families and friends for a wonderful Joy-ous celebration from all the Catechists,

staff and myself! I love Easter. It is a time of hope! All our fears are gone! In our day to day life, if we are not careful we can allow so many things to make us afraid. The loss of a loved one, work, a broken friendship and the experience of not being valued by others are among the many experi-ences that can leave us so sad, not knowing what to ex-pect, even afraid. It really makes you think about those who met the risen Christ -- the two Marys, the guards, the disciples -- all experienced a profound change in their lives, they had to be a little afraid, unsure. However, Christ was alive and offered peace and hope to them. They were his words. They were offered new beginnings. His presence brought not vengeance but reconciliation. Our Lord’s resur-rection overcame sin and death. His resurrection is true redemption, an invitation to new life, where every human mistake can be corrected and we can be freed from what-ever holds us back or destroys true freedom, and we are welcomed into his LOVE. How awesome! Especially in these times when it is so evident that we live in a wonderful but deeply wounded and wounding world that we always remember that Easter promises us hope and that we share that hope in the world. Easter, you might say, is our re-commissioning! It’s Jesus saying to us, “Pssssst, all is well…Pass it on!” He brought us hope, despite being aban-doned by his disciples, the cruelty of the soldiers and the sadness of the women! Jesus offered them, as he offers us, new life, forgiveness and hope for the future. We can find healing and hope in Him, in His profound love. He makes it possible for all of us to have second chances, new beginnings, new life. May you share in the hope shared today, Rita Keep in Mind that our Religious Article Store Located just inside the doors of Church closes to the Parking lot has many wonderful gifts for Baptism, First Communion, Confir-mation and even Mother’s Day! Be sure to stop in and browse! Can’t find what you had in mind? Ask Ms. Dale, she can place orders for specific items! NEW NEW NEW ~ The Good and Beautiful Life (Putting on the Character of Christ) will begin Tuesday April 30 after the 830 Daily Mass. This will be a relaxed discus-sion inviting us to compare our ideas about with what Jesus himself reveals about his Father and how that can bring us true happiness.
