“A Steward’s Way” Advent Small Group Study for adults is
a diocesan wide program reflecting on Pope Francis’ encyc-
lical, The Joy of the Gospel. Phil & Brenda Leatherman &
Paula Gough are coordinating with the diocese to begin
the program at St. Mary’s by Advent. Keeping watching for
more information.
The St. Mary’s Sewing Group has been providing quilts
for families in need for several years. They have sup-
plied warm blankets to victims of house fires and other
disasters, Ray of Hope clients and babies, local benefits
and fundraisers, the sick or shut-in, and each priest who
serves our parish to name a few. They have recently fin-
ished a one of a kind Christmas quilt to be raffled at the
upcoming turkey dinner. This quilt, along with a variety
of others, will be displayed from the church balcony the
weekend of Oct. 26th & 27th. May the sight of the quilts
remind us of the joy of giving and how our talents can
be used for the good of others. To learn more about this
service ministry or to get involved see Doris Hickman or
contact the parish office.
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support St. Mary’s
& St. Patrick’s gave to Ray of Hope at the fundraiser lunch last
Sunday. Over $10,000 was donated to the ministry and sever-
al new volunteers stepped forward. Thanks also to our amaz-
ing K of C who provided the spaghetti and worked diligently
during the event.
Sincerely,
Amanda Durbin, Tim McClintock, & Kristie Gill
