Felician Award Winner NamedOn Friday, April 27, Tim Lindloff, Vol-unteer Coordinator, Felician Village, named Barb Chadek as the 2018 recipient of the Felician Award for Excellence in Volun-teer Service at Felician Village. The award was presented at the 2018 Volunteer Appreciation ceremony.Chadek volunteers at the front reception desk at Felician Village. Her nominee wrote, “The receptionist that was to work the Christ-mas holiday weekend at the last minute could

not do so, therefore, Barb pitched in work-ing Christmas day and longer hours than nor-mal too. Not long after that, Barb offered to increase her volunteer hours in January and February until we filled the vacant weekend receptionist position. I always say how very important it is to have a person at the front desk to greet people, give directions or just to talk with residents and answer questions. That is why someone like Barb makes all the difference!”

Resident Council Meetings Friday, July 6

President’s ColumnThe 2018-19 budget and strategic plan was submitted to the Board of Directors at our Annual Meeting on May 22. Both documents were approved and will now go to Felician Services Inc. for final review and approval before the end of June.As the long-term care environment changes, we continue to reach out into the community, along with local partners, to identify and meet the needs of seniors. Felician Village is well positioned to continue as the leader in Senior Services in Manitowoc County as demonstrated by the fact that for EIGHT straight years we have been voted “Best of the Lakeshore.” This year we have again been nominated in the following categories: senior independent living, assisted living, nursing home and rehabilitation.
