Capital Fundraising Campaign “Building Our Future”
As of January 31, 2013 the Capital Fundraising Campaign has re-ceived approximately $54,000 in donations and pledges. The Com-mittee would like to thank those who have already given to this im-portant initiative and encourage those who have not contributed to please consider doing so. Those wishing to make a pledge or renew their pledges can do so by contacting the parish office. Donations can also be dropped off at the parish office or placed in a clearly marked envelope and deposited in the weekly collection.

Cwl notice of motion
Notice is hereby given that an instructed vote will be taken at the
March 14, 2013 meeting of the St. Michael’s CWL. The vote will
deal with Amendments to the Constitution & Bylaws (2006), pertain-
ing to proposed amendments one through six.
Notice also given to amend the Constitution and Bylaws (2006) to
comply with the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act. All members are
eligible to vote on these amendments but must be present at the

LENTEN SERVICES 2013
The Chatham and Area Ministerial Association will once again host Ecumenical Noon Lenten each Wednesday up to March 27, 2013. The time for the services is 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., followed by a lunch, and the host church is Wellington Street Baptist. The suggested donation for lunch is $3 and proceeds from the lunches will be donated to the Miramichi Community Food Bank. Special collection for Syria The conflict in Syria has reached a new level of violence which has forced thousands of families to flee to safety. The human impact is grave and many neighbouring countries are now facing emergency situations, struggling to try to find a place for them. In view of this and in a spirit of wanting to help our sisters and brothers in grave need, Bishop Robert Harris is asking for a Special Collection for Syria to be held in all Parishes and Missions on the second Sunday of Lent (Feb 23 & 24). Please put your contribution in an envelope marked Special Collection for Syria. The Bishop thanks you and prays for the Lord’s continued blessings upon you.

Welcome new organist
Recently we were blessed to obtain, David Bunnell, as our new organist at St. Michael’s.
Norma Sugden, our long time organist found it more and more difficult to continue and finally had to retire from her position as
organist at our Parish.
David Bunnell, our new organist, is well known to you the parishioners and to the choir, as he has often played for weddings,
funerals and other special events here at St. Michael’s.
A “fill-in” support to us on David’s part has become a permanent ministry. Thanks David for coming to our aid. We are very
grateful and appreciative of your beautiful competence.

With the recent historic resignation of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI for February 28, 2013, Bishop Robert
Harris is asking where Mass is being offered on Wednesday, February 27 that a Eucharist be celebrated for the
Holy Father’s intentions and in thanksgiving for his dedicated and generous service for his close to eight years
as Bishop of Rome and Holy Father.
St. Michael’s Basilica will offer our intention at the 7:00 pm Mass on February 27. The Bishop also asks that we
keep in our prayers the process to elect the new Pope as well the one who will be chosen to serve the
Church as Successor of Peter.
