Come join us at St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland, RI

circumstance is horrific. Focusing on the spirituality of the

grieving process can help tremendously. Please join us. Pre-

Registration by April 21 is requested. Visit www.emfgp.org or

contact Denise at [email protected] or (401)480-3330.

IT’S

TODAY!

PLEASE PRAY FOR VOCATIONS

The Office of Vocations is hosting a discernment retreat on Sat-

urday, May 12th at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence

from 9am- 3pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for boys to

celebrate their faith and reflect on God’s plan for their life. The

day will include Mass, recreation, food, and an opportunity to

meet our seminarians and learn more about the seminary. Regis-

tration is available online at CatholicPriest.com (Events > Middle

School Retreat), or free to contact Fr. Christopher Murphy at

(401) 331-1316.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

In 2018 we mark the 55th anniversary of the World Day of Prayer

for Vocations. Moreover, we celebrate it always on the 4th Sun-

day in Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday.

In today's Gospel reading, we hear about the sheep that always

know the voice of the shepherd. May we also hear with ears of

faith our Shepherd's call to discipleship.

Let us pray...

Jesus, good and gentle Shepherd,

we pray for those among us

who hear your voice and call

to a vocation in the Church.

Help them to be unafraid of that calling from you

of service to the universal church.

Gift them courage to boldly say yes to your call.

Help us to encourage them

in their long journey of discernment and formation.

We offer our thanks to you

for calling us to discipleship in many and various ways,

as married men and women,

as single men and women,

as priests, deacons,

and professed men and women.

We ask all these things

in the name of the Good Shepherd, Jesus,

our savior and our brother.

Amen.
