A Message From Our Pastor

Dear People of St. Patrick Parish, Today is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day.) Jesus tells us, “This is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” This is you and me when we die. God has given us the gift of faith to believe this and gives us the Seven Sacraments to help us live the gift of heaven and to reach heaven, if we want to. It is a good and wholesome thought to remember and to pray for the dead. During this month of November, we pray for all our beloved dead, but especially for the souls in purgatory who are in need of our prayers to help them get to heaven. Have you listed these souls in our Novena of Masses here at St. Patrick Church? Envelopes are available today for this purpose. St. Patrick Parish today celebrates Stewardship Sunday, a day where we take a look at all of the many ministries and programs at our parish. We ask ourselves, how do I use my gifts and talents to help spread the Good News about my Catholic faith and to help others come to know, love and serve God in the church. Yes, each one of us is to financially support the church, that is giving of our treasure. But, we are also expected to use our time and talents to help spread the Gospel. There are two openings for two parishioners to discern about being an active member of the Pastoral Council which advises the Pastor about the needs and ways to fulfill those needs in our parish. If you are able and willing, please talk to Fr. Larry and learn how to apply. Please go to the hall after Mass today, have some refreshments and visit the various tables of information and learn how to be active at St. Patrick Parish, which is your parish! God Bless, Fr. Larry Young Pastor

Did you notice the new floor mat at the doors of the church as you entered the vestibule? It looks great, has a

purpose and hopefully welcomes you, dries your shoes when it’s raining, and of course, it’s green! Best of all, the cost of this mat was donated several years ago but it has taken us awhile to find the right one. Thank you to our donors and to the Stewardship Committee for helping to pick it out and design it.

Did you notice the new display rack in the vestibule? We hope we can reduce the clutter on the counter.

Congratulations to St. Patrick Catholic School parents, faculty, students and the many parishioners who worked

and supported the Craft Fair last Sunday. A special thank you to the vendors, and our 5th grade class who donated their funds to the Capital Campaign. I am so proud of our parish community.

Don’t forget to vote in the elections on Tuesday, November 4. St. Patrick Parish hall is one of the polling locations.

Thank You to everyone who helped take the annual October counts during the month of October, a report will be

given.

Are you an Adult and have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation? Please consider doing so this coming

January 2015. Contact the parish office for information .
