Seeking to Know, Grow In, and Show the Ways of Jesus

Letter from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

I want to thank you all for the warm welcome I have received at St. Paul’s UCC. Everyone has been very

kind and helpful; making sure I am comfortable and have everything I need to do my work. Please come by and

check out the newly decorated Pastor’s Office. The Membership Care Committee has done a great job making the

space inviting and inspiring.

Several things have impressed me about your church. One, of course, is the people—you are all wonderful.

Another is the building and worship space itself. It is very beautiful—bright and sunny, just right for ministry and

perfect for fellowship. The most important thing, however, that I noticed about St. Paul’s is the way God has been

watching over you. How else can you explain the extent of the pastoral care and leadership you received over the

summer? You have been graced by good supply pastors, surrounded by the love and prayers of your neighboring

UCC churches, cared for and blessed by our wonderful Conference staff. God has not forgotten you.

You have also been blessed with good leaders. The Council has been hard at work looking after your needs.

All the Committees have pulled together to make sure programming and fellowship events have gone on

uninterrupted. Every Sunday there are folks on hand to help with worship, making sure all goes smoothly and

faithfully. I am very impressed.

Now for my part—I hope that I can help bring some stability and peace so you can concentrate on your

search for a called pastor and so that you can begin the work you need to do to discover again that place or places

where God might be leading. I hope I can be a part of that discovery process. I think it might be fun to think about

new opportunities for ministry and mission.

My office is open for anyone who wants to talk, share an idea, or just visit. I try to be at the church on

Tuesdays and Thursdays. (I will be in Kansas City the week of October 6th. I am taking a class). Beyond that,

please feel free to call my cell phone: 314-494-4489.

I want to leave you with this thought from Jeremiah 29.11. “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says

the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”

Many Blessings, Pastor Donna

Youth

Fellowship

St. Paul’s UCC Youth and Friends,

I am very excited to have volunteered my time by taking

on the role of Youth Fellowship Leader here at St. Paul’s UCC.

I cannot wait to get to know each and every one of you a bit

more and to discover ways that we can dig deeper into our faith

together. I am absolutely thrilled to bring some new ideas for

youth activities and fundraisers to our church, and I cannot wait

to share some of those with you. And of course, I would love

to hear some of the activities that you want to participate in as

well. Together, we can use our talents, hobbies, and more to

make a difference in our faith and in our community. I hope you

can “Fall” back into Youth Fellowship here at St. Paul’s UCC

and join me in our first fellowship activity together as we kick

off our youth activities on Saturday, October 18th. We will be

meeting at church at 7:00pm and leave from there to go on a

hot dogs and SMORES! I hope to see all of you there, and don’t

forget to bring a friend or two with you! I look forward to meet-

Many, many thanks to all who have stepped forward to fill vacant spots on the

church’s committees! We truly are a very strong church—the information above proves

it. There are still a few places where we need volunteers; these are denoted in red

type. Please contact a member of the church council if you are interested in filling any

of these openings. Again, thank you.
