Bulletin Deadline: Friday 2pm (9 days prior to publication) Dear Parishioners, Bishop Burbidge will be returning to the parish this Saturday to confirm our high schoolers who have been preparing for reception of the sacrament. Please keep these two hundred plus young men and women in your prayers that they should open their hearts to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and so become active in witnessing the Faith in the world. We all know how difficult it can be to live our faith in the world today -- there are so many temptations pulling at us. May they remain steadfast in the teachings they have learned and go into the world to share the good news of the Gospel! Our Merciful Harvest is quickly approaching. For those unaware, this annual outreach event brings in over three hundred families to our parish facilities. Once here, we offer the families a hot breakfast, new or gently used winter coats and other clothing items, as well as perishable and non-perishable food items. We are once again calling upon all parishioners to help make the event a success. We need volunteers to assist in numerous ways on the day itself (Saturday, November 17th). In the weeks prior, we will be asking for coat and other clothing donations as well as monetary donations to help us provide bags of groceries. Next week, our "fall trees" will be at each of the exits of the church. We ask that you take a leaf or leaves from the trees and return the requested item or items the following week when you come to Mass. To get more involved, contact the parish office. Next Sunday evening, Saint Theresa will host its first-ever "Trunk-or Treat" event in the church parking lot. To participate, we ask that you sign up by visiting the parish website. At the event, the school will be raffling off a brand-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Raffle tickets are just $20 and only 2500 tickets maxi- mum will be sold. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to outfit the school computer lab with new computers, so you know it is for a good cause -- and the winner of the car is not the only one who wins! Tickets are being sold after Masses this weekend. Sincerely in Christ, Clergy Reverend Richard M. Guest, Pastor Reverend Nicholas R. Barnes, Parochial Vicar Reverend Jordan M. While parents are the prima-ry educators and caregivers of youth, the Diocese of Arlington enjoys the privilege of sharing in that ministry, in the world we live in today, youth too often are alone and unprepared for the dangers presented. This movie will help students understand and spot the scouting and manipulating tech-niques that are commonly used by traffickers. Using testimony from sur-vivors of sex trafficking, as well as in-sider information from a former traf-ficker, we talk about how to avoid sus-ceptible behaviors. We also provide insights on how to get help if students or their friends get trapped in this ter-rible situation.
