Catechism of the Catholic Church: 689

The One whom the Father has sent into our hearts, the Spirit of his Son, is truly God. Consubstantial with the Father and the Son, the Spirit is inseparable from them, in both the inner life of the Trinity and his gift of love for the world. In adoring the Holy Trinity, life-giving, consubstantial, and indivisible, the Church's faith also professes the distinction of persons. When the Father sends his Word, he always sends his Breath. In their joint mission, the Son and the Holy Spirit are distinct but inseparable. To be sure, it is Christ who is seen, the visible image of the invisible God, but it is the Spirit who reveals him.

This Sunday’s Readings

First Reading 1 Kings 3:5,7-12 Solomon pleases God when he asks for a wise and understanding heart to better govern the people. Responsorial Psalm Psalm 119:57,72,76-77,127-130 The law of the Lord is more precious than silver and gold. Second Reading Romans 8:28-30 God chose us to be conformed to the image of his Son.

The Diocesan Visitor policy in phase 3 : Limited visitors -must have valid purpose for requiring an in-person meeting – should be by appointment only. Please contact [email protected] or 905-436-2126 for appointments. Sign in required. Parish halls: Bishop Daniel Miehm and the Reopening committee have deemed that Parish halls will remain CLOSED for rentals, events, etc. for indoor gatherings at this time.

Please drop off your empty liquor bottles in the small shed in front of the rectory garage.

GLORIA VIEIRA

As a parish, we would like to thank Gloria Viera. Due to personal

reasons, she is leaving our church and moving to Trenton, with

her family. For years, she has been an unstoppable force in our

parish, contributing to various parish ministries and events. Her

support and volunteer work can never be forgotten, and we will

miss her a lot.

Gloria came to this parish 14 years ago, and has been an active

member ever since. She’s always at the Sunday 11:00 a.m. mass,

as a kind and welcoming face each week. She would never miss

an adoration on Friday’s, and was a huge support to many

parishioners while driving so many of them to and from the

church.

Every week, she would join the seniors to fold bulletins, and visit

the residents at the senior home. She was also a huge support to

the convent. For any need, our parishioners and ministries knew

that Gloria would be willing to help.

*****************************************************

Thank you, Gloria, and may God be with you the rest of the

way. “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord,

‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you

hope and a future.’” [Jeremiah 29: 11]

MEMORIES OF LOVED ONES

Ken and Lee are sharing the memories of their beloved

late spouses Allen McDonald and Tina Cranney who are

now in eternal rest.

Al and Lee used to attend the 11 AM Mass at St. Therese every Sunday. They both decorated our Altar and Church. Al passed away on January 14, 2018, after almost 50 years together with Lee. He is remembered as the father of Tara and Christina, loving grandfather of Jeremy, Colton, Danielle, Sydney and great-grandfather of Zane, Xavier and Lila.

Tina, Ken’s beloved wife passed away on March 14, 2018.

She is remembered as a cherished mother to Ken W.,

Randall, Karin, Richard, Michael, Tim, Jay, Diana, Linda

and the late Joseph. She is also remembered as a devoted

Nana to twenty grandchildren, and great grandmother to

four.

Ken and Lee celebrated their First Wedding Anniversary

this year in April.

************************************************ “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is

not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not

easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always

protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” [1 Corinthians 13:4-8]
