A Playful Boy by Freesia It was a nice and sunny day. Mary and Sammy went to Pasir Ris Park to joy. When they were happily jogging along, they heard a croaking sound. They both turned around and just as they had expected, there was a big slimy toad. The children were surprised and jumped! They looked at the toad with big beady eyes. It croaked twice at them. Sammy was overjoyed . He leaped at the toad. But unfortunately, he lost balance, slipped and fell into the pond. Mary gasped and pulled him of of the pond. He was covered in debris and other things. Mary said, “Don’t be naughty. You are lucky because the pond was a shallow one. You could have drowned.” Sammy had learnt his lesson to think before doing. When he went back home with Mary, he was still wet. When he arrived home, Mother was angry. She forced Sammy into the shower. Sammy felt guilty and did not do that ever again.

On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, Tommy and Christine decided to go to Yishun Park for a jog.

When they got there, the park was quiet. They skipped happily and were having a good time. After some time, they heard a croaking sound. They decided to follow it.

Soon, they came to a pond. Tommy found out that the creature that was making the sound actually was a frog with yellow spots. He liked it so much that he wanted to catch it. Mischievously, he took one step into the water and tried to catch it. All of a sudden, he slipped and fell into the pond with a loud “Splash!” He screamed for help in fear. Christine beard the loud splash and Tommy’s scream.

When Christine realised Tommy had fallen into the pond, she stretched out her arms and tried to reach Tommy. Next, she pulled him out of the water. He was covered in mud and slimy seaweed. And he was soaked to the skin! Most fortunately, he did not drown. Christine helped him up.

That was Tommy’s most terrible experience that would stay in his mind forever. He learnt a good lesson about thinking before one acts.
