Explanatory notes for tables:

2. Figures may not add to totals, owing to rounding.3. Numbers in millions are reported at no decimal places, unless rounding leads to zero, in which case two decimal places are used.

The tables contained in the present annex were largely compiled from official, published international sources by the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States. The published sources are cited with each table. Since national data sources have improved, international estimates were rarely used, except to adjust national data for comparability. Where sources made retrospective adjustments to data, the newer data were incorporated in the tables. As a result, some of the data may differ from those published in previous years.

Where shown, totals and averages for the least developed countries and developing regions are weighted by absolute numbers of population or economic variables used in the denominator. Whenever a weight is used, there will be a remark in the footnote.

1. Years separated by a hyphen (such as 2011-2018) indicate data based on averages in the period shown, unless otherwise indicated in the notes to the tables. Years separated by a slash (such as 2011/2013) indicate that data are shown for the latest year available in the period.
