The T-test for independent samples

Objectives:

Identify the equations involved in the t-test for independent samples.

Solve problems on t-test for independent samples.

Reference:

Inferential Statistics

Concept:

The t-test is a test of difference between two independent groups. The means are being compared X against X .

Application:

Two groups of experimental rats were injected with tranquilizer at 2.0 mg. 2.5 mg. dose respectively. The time given in seconds that took them to fall asleep is hereby given. Use the t-test the null hypothesis that the difference in dosage has no effect on the length of time it took them fall asleep.
