MEASURES OF DISPERSION
ACTIVITY NO. 2
I. OBJECTIVES:1. Identify the equations involved in the measures of dispersion.2. Solve problems on range, variance and standard deviation.
II. REFERENCE: Fundamentals of Statistics by Diego M. Amid, PH.D. pp. 29-43III. CONCEPT:
1. Range- largest value minus the lowest value.2. Variance- measures the spread or the variability of the distribution.3. Standard Deviation- its value tells how closely the values of a data are
clustered around the mean.IV. APPLICATION:
Compute for range, variance and standard deviation1. A sample of chicken meat from 7 supermarkets produced the following data on their

The T-test for independent samples
Objectives:
Identify the equations involved in the t-test for independent samples.
Solve problems on t-test for independent samples.
Reference:
Inferential Statistics
Concept:
The t-test is a test of difference between two independent groups. The means are being compared X against X .
Application:
Two groups of experimental rats were injected with tranquilizer at 2.0 mg. 2.5 mg. dose respectively. The time given in seconds that took them to fall asleep is hereby given. Use the t-test the null hypothesis that the difference in dosage has no effect on the length of time it took them fall asleep.
