Then you are going to discuss and reference some of the ways the characters experienced discrimination:

You will need to have three BIG IDEAS here, ones that you will discuss in your summary.

Opening to ResearchThough acts of cruelty and retribution make for an

exciting fictional reading experience, history is fraught with examples of social injustice. One of the most turbulent time periods in American History is the Civil Rights Movement.

Or

Social injustice and discrimination, though entertaining on a literary level are also quite common in society. Examples range from the Inquisition from centuries ago to the crisis in the Ukraine in present time.
