Exclusive Interview with Singer Joe McElderryJoe McElderry is a 23 year old singer and songwriter who won the sixth series of the ITVshow The X Factor in 2009. His first single, "The Climb" reached number one on the UKsingles chart. He was also crowned the winner of the second series of Popstar to

Operastar in 2011 and the TV series The Jump recently. To date he has released four top20 albums - two of them reaching the UK top three. Joe has sold over two millionrecords worldwide.

The Sticks caught up with Joe for a chat a few weeks after his triumph on the TV showThe Jump

Reality shows seem to havebeen good for you; you havebeen on three and won all ofthem? I cant quiet believe

that last one (The Jump) reallyhappened, it came about lastminute, and they needed me togo out to do some training butit was an incredibleexperience. I absolutely lovedit. I am a massive fan of skiingso to do a show like that wasamazing. I stepped in as theyhad loads of other contestantsincluding Sir Steve Redgravewho got injured. It was adangerous show with highintensity sports. It was verynerve racking I have to say. Iwould like to do Strictly nextbut have not been asked yet.

Tell us a little about yourself. Iwas born in South Shields and Istill live there now, I have

never really left. I went downto London to do X Factor butpretty much soon after I wentback there. I got myself aplace there and I use that asmy base, I do a lot of travellingbut it is home still and I goback if not every week, thenevery other week. So I am veryluck in that sense that I can live where I want to live.

How did you get into show business? I went to Newcastle College and did about 1 year to18 months studying performing arts there and the audition for the X Factor came up andI had to leave college early, but I made sure I finished the qualification after the show

ended. I took all my college work on the tour bus and I got a diploma as I felt it wasimportant.

You auditioned for X Factor in 2007 but you thought you were too young? Yes I did, Iactually left the show in the boot camp stages because I felt very uncomfortable. I didnot feel confident enough or that I was ready for it and I just freaked out basically andeverybody at the time said youre an idiot, why have you done that but it just did notfeel right and I am always one to go on gut instinct and will not do anything if it does notfeel right.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about going on X Factor? You shouldalways try, try and try again, never give up, never take no for an answer because thereare a lot of nos in this industry and you have to get through them and not let it affectyour performance and also just be passionate about what you do and the passion and thedrive will carry you through. Also the talent and you just have to believe in yourself as itis a tough industry and there are a lot of knock backs and ups and downs but you just got

to ride it and enjoy it for what it is, it is singing it is not heart surgery it is supposed tobe fun and the day I dont enjoy it is the day I stop doing it because it is the kind of jobwhere you have to have a connection with the audience and that connection comes fromthe passion and the music.

Why did youaudition forthe X Factor?Simply that Iwanted to be asinger nothing

more, nothingelse. I justwanted tosing, wantedto perform toaudiences andit was a goodplatform to beout there andto be seen bypeople. Theyear I won also

taking part was Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Jedward - it was a really strong year andthats the good thing about it, at least four people got a career break from it. It givepeople huge momentum to carry their career forward. It is a stepping stone with 20million people watching the final.

You sang at the audition Dance With My Father is that a favourite song of yours? Yes, Igrew up listening to Luther Vandross, I used to play him all the time. Luther just has anincredible voice and it is an incredible song and incredible soul in his music so I grew upwith him, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Tina Turner and Whitney Houston, the big

singers which were my musical influences. During the show I got given some great songsto perform even if some were hard to learn. Somebody to love was a hard one to

master, it was a lot of lyrics and turns to learn in a short space of time but it was one ofmy favourite performances once I had actually done it.

You have recorded 4 Albums in the last 4 years. Yes they have all been top 20 albumsand I have sold over 2 million records. People say it is not luck but I suppose I have beenlucky in the sense that I have had an incredibly loyal and supportive fan base and I workhard. If I am doing something I commit 120% and I give it my absolute all.

You do a lot of work for charities. I did the Great North Run last year for The TeenageCancer Trust (TCT) and the Coast to Coast bike ride - me and a few family members, didabout 170 mile bike ride over 3 days, it was tough but we raised over 12,500 but I thinkthe important thing is if you have some profile in the media if you can use it in apositive way where as sometimes all the silly things get mentioned like who you aregoing out with or this happened, that happened. If you can use it in a positive way toraise money for important charities then I am more than happy to do it, it is a way ofgiving back I suppose for the privilege I have from my job. I was asked to be a regional

patron by TCT a few years ago and I have just been doing work for them as cancereffects all sorts of people, especially at a young age it is a horrible time to go through itand I feel like, because I am around a similar age, so they can relate to me in some way.I go in and visit them and sometimes perform in the units although I have not done onefor a while. I am always looking for ways to give them some entertainment while theyare in hospital.

In 2011 you took part in Popstar to Operastar? Yes, it was another incredibleexperience for me. It was so much fun and to be able to learn things off professionalslike Katherine Jenkins, it was just a once in a lifetime experience, you could not evenpay for that kind of training and the fact I got to do that and then release a classical

album. I just loved it, also the support from the public - never in a hundred years did Iexpect to win, so a real surprise and it rolled into this kind of snowball of lots ofopportunities. I then released a classical album which in a way educated fans that werenot necessarily fans of the opera. Now when I am doing a show I can get to do both sidesof the music (pop and opera).

Would you like to do like to do musical theatre? Definitely, if the right show came alongand it was the right time I would 100% do it. Working with a cast and having themaround you is a great feeling. It feels like a support network. It is something I want to doin the future. I did panto in 2013 for the first time which I really enjoyed.

Actress Lesley Joseph tells The Sticks about her new showHot Flush!

What appealed you about starring in the touring production ofHot Flush!? Ive done it twice before, and I just couldnt resistdoing it again. It has gone down so well with audiences. Its theonly show Ive ever done where on the first night we overran by15 minutes because there were so many laughs. Of course, thatcould have just been me overplaying it! Its a hybrid show - itsgot music, drama, stand-up and revue. But the main thing isthat its very, very funny.

Why do you think audiences respond so well to this show? Itstrikes a chord because its about menopausal women, and alot of women identify with that. The Vagina Monologues started

a trend for bringing in an audience who might not have been tothe theatre before and Hot Flush! is merely continuing that.

What do you think the show offers to an audience? Its sense of humour is very near theknuckle and that really appeals. One of the characters has a moment with a RampantRabbit and you dont get much more near the knuckle than that! Its part of a genre oftheatre that connects with hormonal housewives and hen parties. They are people whowant to leave their troubles behind and come out for a real laugh. Hot Flush! speaksdirectly to that audience, and thats why it works so brilliantly.

You play Myra in Hot Flush! Can you describe her to us? Myra is middle-aged and

frustrated. Her husband has gone off with a bimbo, and so, like a lot of women herage, shes trying to find a new life for herself. Shes wisecracking, but also vulnerable. You have to let the audience see different layers to a character. Myra is in this gang offour women who are going through everything together. By the end, you see themsinging and dancing together. Its like One Singular Sensation at the end of A ChorusLine . Theyve all been on a journey together and they want to celebrate that. All thecharacters have a degree of pathos. Its not a facile show its aimed at making peoplelaugh and think at the same time.

What do you think the characters learn during the course of Hot Flush!? Myra learns tobe herself and that she is worth something. Shes not just defined by a man. Its atremendous journey that all of the characters go through. The show demonstrates thestrength they all have when theyre together.

Hot Flush! is a musical comedy how did you find the musical part of Hot Flush!? Iveloved it. I may not be the greatest singer in the world, but I can sell a song. Ivepreviously starred in The Boyfriend and Thoroughly Modern Millie , so I know my wayround a musical. I also job shared the role of Miss Hannigan with Paul OGrady for twoand a half years in a production of Annie. It was brilliant to dip in and out of it.Sometimes I get very possessive about a role, and I was far happier that a man wasplaying my part than a woman on that occasion. I knew I couldnt compete with Paul,

but it was great as we had very different interpretations.

Which part of the show do you enjoy most? Theres a section in the middle which feelsalmost like stand-up. I talk to the audience and pick on someone in the front row. Iwould never want to be a straight stand-up, but I love doing it within the parameters ofthe show. Hot Flush! ticks all the boxes for me. It gives me my stand-up and my musicalfix for the year.

You obviously have a real love of theatre? Absolutely. Im a theatre girl I grew uploving it. I love standing in the wings waiting to go on and seeing the scenery change. Iused to do very serious, kosher acting, but then I went down the comedy route. Thatstop of the tree for me now. I just love working with an audience. Im a pure theatreanimal.

What other theatre productions have you enjoyed appearing in? Every sort of theatre isvalid, and I love doing it all. I once did Harold Pinters Home directed by Sir Peter Hall. The play is magical. The original production starred Sir John Gielgud and Sir RalphRichardson, and I worshipped the ground they walked on. To be able to do that and then

shows such as Hot Flush! or The Gingerbread Lady about a recovering alcoholic or Titaniain A Midsummer Nights Dream is truly wonderful. Ive never done The National Theatreor the Royal Shakespeare Company, but Ive done so many other marvellous things onstage. Ive entertained thousands of people in the theatre and put smiles on their facesand thats a great feeling.

Youve recently returned to our TV screens onITV1 as Dorien in Birds of a Feather, which isprobably your best known role. Did you haveany doubts about reviving it? There willalways be people who say, For Gods sake, why did you bring it back? Youll always

have lovers and haters. But you cant spendyour life worrying about what other peoplethink. Some people wont like my work, butmany people will. All I know is that every dayI walk down the street and someone stops meto say, Thank you for making me laugh.

Those people are delighted that Birds of a Feather is back.

How would you describe Dorien, the man-eating neighbour in Birds of a Feather? Shes acomic creation born with high heels and long nails. Laurence [Marks] and Maurice [Gran]based her on someone they knew who used to go and put petrol in her car wearing thewhite mink coat. She used to get a nice young man to do it for her, and then she woulddisappear with him for the afternoon. The high heels gave her that distinctive trot, andthe nails meant that everyone else had to do everything for her. She had a very vacuouslife, but there was still a huge vulnerability about Dorien. I think thats why peoplerelated to her.

Why else do audiences identify with Dorien? People simply love her. Yes, shes a nastypiece of work, but people really like her because she is also vulnerable. Theres a realpathos to her. She can never be too successful. We would never make her a big fish in abig pond. She has to be still stuck in Chigwell. She makes people laugh, but she also

makes them cry because you see her vulnerability. Shes the wrong side of forty andrefuses to grow old gracefully. She takes life by the balls and just goes for it. Shes atrue life force.

Dorien is an identifiable human being, isnt she? Definitely. It would have been very, very easy to play her as a clich. Shes glamorous and loves power dressing. Shes gotbig hair and short skirts. Shes a very iconic TV character and Im really proud of her. Itwould have been very simple to come on, get some corking laughs and go off again. Butwe never did that. We wanted to make Dorien a more rounded character.

Do you feel you have been typecast as Dorien? I suppose to an extent I have been, but Idont mind at all because shes opened so many doors for me. Thanks to her, I havebeen able to really diversify. I did a BBC Radio London show for two and a half yearsinterviewing everyone from comedians to Cabinet Ministers. Ive also travelled the worldpresenting Wish You Were Here. Ive always thought outside the box. Thats given melongevity. A lot of people say the older you get, the harder work gets, but touch wood, its been very good for me because I have ducked and dived. If you only do one thing, its more difficult. But I love that diversity it means I never get bored. If someoneasked me, What role put you on the map? of course Id say Dorien. Im very proud ofher. But my career has never just been about Dorien.

In real life, are you more like like Dorien or Myra? Im not like either. I havent got anything in common with them apart from my age!

You are also a regular in Panto arent you.? Yes, I love doing panto. All comedy timingis about hearing the rhythm in your head, and thats crucial in panto. Ian Hislop wrotean article saying, I always thought panto was for performers at the tail end of theircareers. But having seen Dick Whittington in Wimbledon, I now realise its something youshould do at the peak of your career. When I read that, I thought, Thank you. Somepeople dont get panto, but its great because you learn the skill of working with anaudience. I hate it when people put panto down. Its so important to get panto right. If

children dont have a good time at panto, they wont go again and theatre will die.

How do you relax? Im a very good knitter. I recently knitted myself a dress, and it wasonly meant to be a jumper! I also love walking I walk everywhere. I love doing thegreat London walks, learning about Charles Dickens or Jack the Ripper. I also loveshopping. So Im especially happy at Christmas when theres an excuse to spend money!Every single job I do, I buy myself a present. When I finish a job, I think, Right, nowIve earned myself a pair of shoes!

Finally, will men feel excluded if they come to see Hot Flush!? Not at all. There is a veryfunny moment where Myra goes speed-dating. One actor plays all the men, and he endsup wearing a leather pouch and a mask. At that point, the audience goes berserk, andthe roof comes off the theatre. That sums up the evening. People might be snobby aboutHot Flush! but its great entertainment, and it sends audiences out with a smile on theirfaces. Theyve left their troubles behind and had a wonderful night out. Its a let yourhair down show, and above all, its laugh out loud funny. When you watch it, it blowsyour head off. Watching Hot Flush! is like having a Hot Flush!

DO I NEED TO GET MARRIED?

Many couples in todays modern society live together without getting married orentering into a civil partnership. There is no stigma attached to such an arrangementand everyone should have freedom of choice. However, what happens if that couple split up? Who gets to stay in the home theyshared, who has to pay to maintain the children, and how are jointly held assets dividedbetween them?

Unfortunately, English law is very old fashioned and currently there is no specificlegislation protecting unmarried couples. Instead, they have to work out which bits of amyriad of legislation covering trusts and children can assist them.

PropertyIf this was held in joint names, then both parties have a right to remain living in theproperty as well as potentially receiving a percentage of any net sale proceeds. If it is only registered in one persons name, the other party can be in a very precarioussituation.

    Other Assets

These will usually be retained by whoever purchased the item and can prove ownershipof the same.

MaintenanceOften in a relationship one person is the main breadwinner, and financially supports theother person particularly if there are children to care for. Upon separation, if theparties were married or in a civil partnership, the lower earner would often continue tobe supported by the other party. However, if they simply cohabited, there is no ongoingobligation for one party to support another over and above any basic child maintenancepayments.

The Solution?Of course one option is to get married or enter into a civil partnership. However, thereis an alternative. You and your partner could agree terms now for a simple Deed ofTrust or Cohabitation Agreement - which could set out what would happen to thehome (and any other joint assets) if you ever separated.

Such documents neednt cost huge sums to prepare, and they can save a lot of moneyand heartache at a later date if unfortunately the relationship comes to an end.

    I WANT THAT JOB

Recruitment is a two way process - it is as much about theemployee choosing who they want to work for as it is about theemployer selecting the right individual to work for them; and as the

economy ebbs and flows, the power of choice lays first in one camp and then in theother as there are fluctuations in job shortages and skills shortages.

As a candidate looking for a job, the CV is your strongest tool. Ensuring that it is easy toread, concise and details the impact you have had in your roles, is essential to making itstand out against the competition when there are job shortages, there can be up to300 applicants per job and recruiters may only look at your CV for 10 seconds beforedeciding to reject your application and therefore, right up the top, it needs to give thema reason to read it for longer.

Dont have a standard CV which you send to hundreds of employers. Think about the jobyou are applying for and tailor your CV and cover letter so that the recruiter knows youreally want the job dont sound desperate or fake, it will end up in the no pile beforeit is properly read. Make it professional, tailor it to the job and ensure that althoughaccurate, it illustrates why you are the best person for the role given your previousexperience. Read the advert carefully, what key phrases are used.

Assuming you are one of the lucky ones and get an invitation to attend an interview, preparation is essential. When preparing for interview do your research, find out aboutthe company, the role, the sector and the person interviewing you name and positionare sufficient; you dont need to stalk them on Facebook or LinkedIn. Use social media

to help in your research. Prepare your questions about the role and the company usingresearched information it is a subtle way of demonstrating that you have done yourhomework, this is not just another interview and you are genuinely interested in theposition.

If possible, find out the dress code in advance, so you can dress appropriately, but if indoubt, suited and booted will always stand you in good stead. Ensure you know how toget there, where to park, where to get of the bus etc. and allow plenty of time for road-works, diversions, delayed trains etc. Your stress levels will go upif you are worried about being late.

At the end of the interview, ask what the recruitment processwill be, will there be a second stage and when can you expect tohear back from the business?

Be confident, demonstrate your ability to perform the job andensure the interviewer knows the value you will bring to thebusiness but dont be cocky, interviewers dont like it!

The Complex World of Relationship ProblemsExplained by Jo Coker, Clinical Director of LCC

Every year at Local Counselling Centre we see couples, both heterosexual and same sex, who areat the end of their tether and who have been tipped into a relationship crisis. It maybe be soserious that they are considering separating or divorce. The impact of this on the couple andwider family is huge, and can be devastating. So what does relationship therapy have to offersuch couples? How does it work? Here is an insight that might help you make the choice.

A couples therapist tries to help the couple be more objective about their relationship.Couples are encouraged to stop blaming each other and to become aware how theiractions affect each other. Once they have this awareness, they can then be encouragedto make changes in behaviour that will alter existing unhelpful patterns of behaviour, andhelp the relationship improve.

As couple therapists we will also look at what works in the relationship. Most coupleshave some strength in their relationship, which often they are unaware of, especially

when they are in crisis. This will be identified, affirmed and used to build further on.

Communication is vital for a successful relationship and for ongoing intimacy. Often thiscommunication can be poor or unhelpful i.e. by using anger and rows. A couplestherapists will know how to help couples improve this and will teach them how tobecome more sensitive and empathetic to each other, so that they get the best of theirrelationship in a healthy way.The therapist will also look at what the couple say to each other. If you think of your ownrelationship, you will probably find that you say what is wrong with your partner quiteeasily. However, we rarely pay compliments to our partners on the positive traits theyhave, even though often we do appreciate them. This does not help the individuals self-

esteem and in turn the relationship functioning. Communication is also very important fora healthy intimate life. It is very hard to feel sexually attracted to your partner if you areangry, disappointed or not sensitive to each others needs. Indeed for many of thecouples we see with sexual problems, communication is at the root, not lack of desire.

Often couples have emotional avoidance issues and find it difficult to express emotionallyto their partner. This may be because of attachment issues from childhood, where wefirst learn about attachment to another human. A skilled therapist will help the couple tobecome more skilled emotionally and able to communicate their needs moreproductively.

If you recognise the problems you are having in the above, then it may well be helpful to see aqualified relationship therapist. As a service LCC are skilled at helping couples re-engage andwork through these complex issues. We have a team of specialists ready to help you.Consult our website for lots of helpful information and if you want to see a therapist rememberhelp is just a phone call away. Green Spring Cleaning

It wont be long before the sun comes out (I am forever hopeful) and we start thinkingabout spring cleaning but at least promise me youll do itthe natural way

Its far better to use natural products as conventionaldetergents contain so many potentially dangerous toxicchemicals, of course its no one bottle of washing up liquidthats the issue, more the cumulative effect of so manydifferent synthetic chemicals,If you choose well plant based detergents are just aseffective as conventional detergents and often very little isneeded, we all know about old style cleaning too, using

vinegar and newspaper to clean the windows, bi-carbonateof soda for surfaces cleaning the oven etc.

Most cleaning products contain VOCs (volatile organiccompounds), they evaporate easily and build up in the airand can aggravate asthmatics and anyone with allergies orrespiratory problems. Most laundry detergents have addedphosphates which could improve their cleaning power but

isnt good for sensitive skin (or for the environment as they stimulate the growth ofalgae resulting in dead fish and the chemicals make their way back into the food chain!).Similarly many contain sodium laurel sulphate, a foaming agent which is known to be a

skin irritant, some contain formaldehyde, propellants, alcohol and synthetic fragranceswhich can trigger asthma attacks and could be hormone disrupting. Its important toremember that most conventional cleaning products are based on petrochemicals manyof which are classed as hazardous waste.Personally Im anti the anti-bacterials we know the problems with superbugs! Iverecently found an amazing probiotic cleaner, it puts back the good bacteria its sopure you can use it as a starter yoghurt!

Most people want to get back to old style cleaning but the question Im always asked isHow to clean the loo without bleach? Interestingly, brand new toilets come with asticker saying Do Not Use Bleach! Its all about the one forgotten ingredient elbowgrease, get your rubber gloves on and remove some of the water and scrub great fortriceps too! You can use bicarb. mixed with a little eco washing up liquid or whitevinegar or buy one of the natural loo cleaners such as Ecover, but its the regularcleaning thats important. For loo seats or any area that requires a little more antibacterial help use a few drops of Tea tree oil. For cleaning the bath / shower any goodmulti surface cleaner will do, my current faves include the multi surface cleaner fromwww.myeco2life.com and the probiotic cleaner already mentioned Libby Chanprobiotic cleaner from www.mylivingwateruk.comYou could also try the sustainable Soapnuts, check out www.greenfrogsoap.co.uk

So go green with your Spring clean, youll burn some calories, save some money andavoid the headaches.

LAMBORGHINI HURACN LP 610-4: THE START OF A NEWLEGEND SAYS COMPANY PRESIDENT

This month, The Sticks brings some exotica to Herts, Beds and Bucks in the form ofLamborghinis luxury new supercar. Andrew Merritt-Morling, Managing Editor of our

media partner, first 4auto .com, was lucky enough to be at Geneva to reveal all.

Automobili Lamborghini is taking a major step into the future: with the newly developedHuracn LP 610-4, the successor to the highly successful Gallardo. The Italian supersports car manufacturer says it is redefining the benchmark in the segment. With itspure and absolute design, breath-taking dynamics and excellent quality, the Huracnpromises to deliver an unparalleled sports car experience. It unites mighty performancewith a character perfectly suited to everyday use; its wide-ranging new technologieswork together in a fully integrated fashion. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO ofAutomobili Lamborghini told first4auto : "With the Huracn, Lamborghini is writing thenext chapter in its great history.

With 14,022 unitsproduced, theGallardo is themost successful

Lamborghinimodel ever made.During its ten-yearproduction run, ittook the brand

into a completelynew dimension. Intrue Lamborghinitradition, thesuccessor to theGallardo alsotakes its namefrom the world of

    bullfighting:Huracn was a

fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed who fought in August 1879 inAlicante. His unyielding character made him invincible.

The design is bold and edgy. The starting point of the design process was the Huracn'ssilhouette. The objective was to define the car with a single line stretching from thefront end over the passenger cell to the rear. The side windows take on a hexagonalform that says Lamborghini, looks like a gem set into the profile of the Huracn. Atnight, too, it is utterly unmistakable: all lights, including the main headlamps, beam inLED technology - an absolute first in the super sports car segment.

An innovative cockpit dominates the interior. The 12.3-inch TFT display can beconfigured in a number of different modes and provides the driver with all keyinformation in a virtual format. The slender lines of the instrument mounts and thecentre tunnel are indicative of the lightness of the interior design. Fine materials

distinguish the interior, which can be extensively individualised, while the extremelydetailed craftsmanship delivers a highly refined sense of quality.

The newly conceived hybrid chassis forms the basis for the vehicle's low dry weight of1,422 kilograms guarantees the handling precision of a racing car.

The new V10 engine in the Huracn generates its phenomenal propulsion from adisplacement of 5.2 litres. It produces a power output of 448 kW / 610 hp at 8,250 rpmand a maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The new "Iniezione Diretta Stratificata"combines direct and indirect injection - achieving an increase in power and torquecompared with the Gallardo and a decrease in fuel consumption and emissions.

With its power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kilograms per hp, the Lamborghini Huracnachieves absolutely breath-taking performance. The top speed of more than 200mph or325 km/h and the acceleration figures - zero to 60mph or 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, zeroto 120mph or 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds - offer an indication of its dynamics. Thanks in

part to the Stop & Start technology, ECE average fuel consumption has dropped to 12.5litres per 100 km or 2.75 gallons per 60 miles (290 g CO 2 per km).

The power generated by the ten-cylinder is delivered to the road via the new 7-speeddual-clutch transmission "Lamborghini Doppia Frizione" (LDF) and an all-wheel drive thatalso features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Three different driving modes, spanning from road to race track, can be selected using a drive select switch in thesteering wheel. The system is called ANIMA (Italian for Soul) - "Adaptive Network

Intelligent Management", andimpacts the engine, thetransmission, the all-wheel

drive and the ESC handlingsystem as well as otherdynamic systems.

The wheels of theLamborghini Huracn measure20 inches in diameter, withthe standard-fit carbon-ceramic brake systemdelivering exceptionalstopping power. As an option,Lamborghini offers its new

luxury super sports car with the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering variable steering systemand MagneRide electromagnetic damper control. Both of these features are alsointegrated into ANIMA.

Customer deliveries are scheduled to start in spring 2014. The Huracn is priced at169,500.00, excluding taxes (139,713).

    Milk, a Marketing Tool for Irresponsible Supermarkets;

Sign the Petition for RAW Milk Here!

Tesco say they have cut the price of milk to help people save on everyday items and

that they will not pay farmers less. This a PR stunt not real customer care and thoroughly irresponsible.

Read on for more or sign the RAW milk petition here .

Tesco have now put pressure on milk prices as other retailers join the price war. WillTesco profits drop by the amount they are dropping prices? No, because they will markup other products to give shareholders the return they want.

The net result is that more small dairy farmers will go out of business and mega dairieswill be set up around the country.

For more on mega dairies and raw milk click here .

Happy cows eating a natural feed and producing a great product

Here is why we should all sign the petition : Nearly all the milk available is pasteurisedand homogenised to give long shelf life, protect us from bugs and stop the cream rising

to the top. Very few people know that these processes do many people more harm thangood and that Raw milk straight from the cow is much better for us and if madeavailable could keep thousands of dairy farmers in business.

Unfortunately the Food Standards Agency (probably backed by supermarkets) has ruledthat only dairy farmers producing their own raw milk are allowed to sell it from thefarm, very difficult for understaffed, underfunded, farmers.

If the rules changed farmers could sell their milk through local shops, and vendingmachines, you could even get a raw milk cappuccino!

These local shops supplying great produce to local people is not what the supermarketswant and the story of milk over that last 20 years is a classic example or how the food

industry, and over regulation, can ruin a product, and in this case, many of thoseproducing it.

The number of dairy farmers in the UK has gone from 45,000 in the 80s to 14,500 in2012, and the threat of mega dairies like the USA, where 32,000 cows rarely taste freshgrass, and only live for 3 years, looms.

Cheap, standard, fresh milk, that lasts for weeks in the fridge, from mega dairies, iswhat supermarkets, and many people think they, want. Others who understand thewhole story and want to see cows in fields and be able to consume the milk, butter orcheese from those cows should be allowed to buy those products from local independentshops. Your comments are welcome.

    The Posh Bacon Sarnie

If you like bacon you must have noticed the wide selection of bacon on offer. Fromcheap imports, to organic free range slow cured. You may even notice a label onSupermarket finest brands saying No added water.

Water in bacon, why? Demand for cheap means the worst bacon is from intensivelyreared pigs that are then quick cured by pumping salty water in to the meat to alsoincrease the weight.

Demand for quality coupled with producers who care about their animals, and thequality of their product, means that there is some really great bacon available. And thebest way to find out about good bacon, is ask.

Bacon Connoisseurs Week is designed to help producers shout about their bacon andencourage you to ask questions about the bacon on sale. So please use the local foodmap to find your local bacon, find more information and recipes here or browse LocalFood MarketPlace to buy online.
