With a long list of disasters in which businesses have had to contend with in the 21st century, both natural and man-made, a great deal of attention has been paid to making crisis preparedness and response a key focus of their business continuity planning. Kenny Seow has over 25 years of international experience in disaster recovery, business continuity and crisis management in banking, securities, education, logistics and government. He is a Partner at Riskwest, a consulting practice based in Perth, Western Australia that provides business continuity and risk management support, training and advisory services to government, community service organisations and private sector companies in the region.

Kenny is formerly the Director and Regional Head of BCM of Deutsche Bank AG with responsibilities for the development and implementation the bank’s BCM and crisis management programme across 16 countries in Asia Pacific. He has also held senior leadership positions in Sema Group Asia Pacific and Hitachi Data Systems where he managed the services of a commercial disaster recovery facility, and in PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was responsible for consulting services in disaster recovery and business continuity.

Kenny speaks regularly at seminars and conferences, and has presented papers on business continuity in Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. He conducts BCM courses regularly and has trained over 3,000 senior managers and executives from public and private sector organizations. He is also a trainer for the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and International Consortium for Organisational Resilience (ICOR).

Kenny is professionally qualified as a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from Disaster Recovery Institute International and a Member of the BCI (MBCI). He is also qualified as an ISO 22301 Lead Auditor and Trainer. He has a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Computer Science, Master degree in Business Administration and Specialist Diploma in Disaster and Emergency Management System. He is the first recipient of Asian Business Continuity Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2007.

Kenny is currently a Board Member and Western Australian Area Representative of the BCI, Australasian Chapter. He is also a volunteer with the Western Australian State Emergency Service.
