During a preparatory phase, you will add to your knowledge of strategy initiation, strategic analysis, business strategies, innovative business models, value creation, and change management by completing six four-hour web-based training courses (WBTs). Here, you will receive support on all issues regarding content through individual e-tutoring and are already in contact with the other course participants via the discussion forum. The courses are di -dactically challenging, visually rich, and interactive.

Professor Björn Ambos, Chair of Strategic Management at the Univer-sity of St.Gallen, is involved in the development of a global certifica-tion standard for professional strategists within the Strategic Manage-ment Society. This ensures that the certificate learning content reflects the latest international developments in this area. 1 B JÖRN AM BOSPrior to assuming the Chair of Strategic Manage- ment at the University of St.Gallen, Professor Björn Ambos worked at the universities and business schools in Edinburgh, Hamburg, Milan, Florida, and Vienna. He gathered practical experience in performing management roles in Vietnam, Italy, Paris, and New York, as well as through his participation in numerous international consultancy projects. Björn Ambos is the coeditor of leading international journals and was a member of the conference committee for the 2012 Annual Conference of the Strategic Management Society. He is the author of influen- tial academic publications, with his latest book being entitled Global Strategic Management.

2 ALE X ANDE R Z IM M E RMAN NProfessor Alexander Zimmermann is Assistant Professor of Organization and Strategic Management at the University of St.Gallen. His research focuses on the fields of ambidexterity, organizational design and development, public value, growth, innovation management, and collaboration. He is regularly published in the Harvard Business Manager, which has brought

his findings to the attention of a broad reader- ship within corporate practice. He heads up the Center for Organizational Excellence at the universities of Geneva and St.Gallen, which addresses the question of how companies can be profitable in the short term and remain successful, innovative, and responsible over the long term.

3 TOM I L A AMAN E NHaving occupied various academic and mana- gerial positions at Aalto University in Finland, Professor Tomi Laamanen, who has doctorates in finance and strategy, was appointed Professor for Strategic Management at the University of St.Gallen in 2011. His research focuses on the factors involved in the success of acquisition programs, strategy processes, the handling of strategic issues and sequences, management cognition, and strategy implementation. The findings from these research projects have been published in leading international journals, for which he also serves as a reviewer and editor. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors at a number of companies and also works as a strategy consultant.
