CMCC
• CMCC (www.cmcc.it) is a non-profit research institute established in 2005. Six consortium members: – Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Fondazione ENI Enrico
Mattei, Università del Salento, Università degli Studi del Sannio, Centro Italiano di Ricerche Aerospaziali, Università Cà Foscari Venezia.
• Six research Divisions work together in an interdisciplinary manner: – Numerical Applications and Scenarios (ANS); Climate Impacts and
Policies. An Economic Assessment (CIP); Impacts on Soil and Coast (ISC); Impacts on Agriculture, Forest, and Natural Ecosystems (IAFENT); Scientific Computing and Operations (SCO); Climate Services Division (SERC).
• The ANS division focuses on the study of climate variability, the physical-biogeochemical interactions in the climate system, and the implementation of a operational oceanography systems for short-term ocean forecasting, especially through numerical simulations.
Ocean-Lab (ANS-CMCC)
• CMCC operational oceanography team (Ocean-Lab) established in 2012 is expert in operational research for the development and production of short term ocean forecasts (Adriatic Forecasting System), and modeling and applications in the field of maritime safety (i.e. sea situational awareness, search and rescue, ship routing, oil spill modeling), coastal modelling (i.e. sediment transport) and climate impacts assessment in the coastal area.
