In this internship members will serve in teams of five with an experienced SCA Project Leader. Training Provided: n Two weeks of field based training n Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior n Introduction to Incident Command System n Standards for Survival n Human Factors on the Fireline n Introduction to the National Incident Management System n Wildland Fire Chainsaw Certification n Basic Wildlife Firefighter and Red Card Certification n Wilderness First Aid and CPR n S190 Certification Participate in Projects like: n Fuels Reduction n Pre-fire preparation of burn units n Fire effects monitoring n Educational Outreach n Prescribed burns Internship Details: n Teams will consist of four members with one SCA project leader n 4 days on 3 days off, 40 hours a week n Free housing and field-based meals Read the Veteran’s Fire Corps blog at thesca.org/VFC.
