Camford International College, formerly known as Camford Business School, was established in the

year 2000. Throughout these years, we have provided a lifelong learning experience in the

professional fields of Business Management and Finance. We have a pool of qualified and dedicated

teachers who are trained and committed in delivering quality education to both local and international

students.

ACADEMIC BOARD

The Academic Board is set up in accordance to the Board of Directors of Camford International

College which encompasses the educational structures of CIC.

As the policy-making body, its role is to guide the Academic Staff in the development and

implementation of strategies for the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning. It

oversees the policies, programmes and all matters relating to students, including admission criteria,

course content, course delivery, lecturers' performance, etc.

Our Purpose:

a) To promote academic quality and responsible for transparent framework

b) To develop the policies and procedures to ensure academic and rigor as

The Examination Board is set up in accordance to the Board of Directors of Camford International

assessment procedures as well as train our Academic Staff to continuously improve on the teaching

INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS

1. Course Introduction and Learning Objectives

This program gives a head-start in the exciting word of business. Students will learn the ropes of

business management and how to be nimble to stay ahead in this global economy. There will be a

strong global and entrepreneurial focus throughout the study, and will have hands-on experience with

a host of programs designed to simulate real business environments and challenges. The area of

specialization will offer an added advantage for many positions. Depending on the specialization,

students may find more jobs opening in business development, corporate ventures, corporate

investments, marketing research, advertising, the management and/or development of human capital.

Not only the theoretical learning, the students will be given the opportunities to apply skills and

knowledge to work-related contexts, assignments and case studies. The curriculum of this programme

requires the students to participate in the soft skill assessments activities for leadership, decision

making skill, critical thinking skill, problem solving skill, presentation skill, initiative skill, time

management, teamwork, communication skill, willingness to learn and selling skill through

participation of case study discussion, group work, classroom discussion, writing assignment,

participation in school activities such as industrial visit and corporate social activity initiative so that

they can apply and reflect the soft skills in the learning process. Thus, on top of the academic

qualification, integration of soft skills assessment will excel the students to achieve a successful career

in a challenging world today.

At the end of this course, the students will acquire basic business skills of running and managing a

business. The students will be issued an International Diploma in Business Certificate after the

The International Diploma in Business Administration provides a framework for developing the skills

and knowledge needed for employment in the increasingly dynamic business environment. This

course has been developed specifically for the international market, recognizing the growing

importance of employees working across geographic and cultural borders. This course aims to meet

the needs of employers, employees and students, by assessing knowledge and competence in a

range of Business areas through participation of case studies discussion, group work and

assignment. This course provides the students the knowledge, understanding and skills they need in

order to become supervisors or managers in the real life. By giving the opportunities to link between

ADMINISTRATION

ENROLMENT AND PAYMENT

Upon meeting the entry requirements, courses registrations must be made using the Official

Enrolment Form. Please take note that students are required to complete the form with complete

personal information. It is compulsory for students to sign the Advisory Note (Form 12) and a Student

Contract upon registration.

Payment modes are available by cash, cheque (Singapore banks), Nets, Visa/Master, Telegraphic

Transfer. For payment by cheque, it must be made payable and crossed to “Camford International

College Pte.Ltd”.

INSTALMENT PLANS &CHANGE OF INSTALMENT PAYMENTS

Students who make two instalments are not required to pay the processing fees $20. However, those

whose instalments are more than two, they are required to pay $20 for every instalment.

Should the students want to change the instalment payments due to their financial situations, both the

student and the school representative must sign “the revised instalment plan”. The change of

instalment payment fees $100 is chargeable. Processing fees will be collected depending on the

instalment plan.

LATE PAYMENT

Students need to follow the instalment plan as agreed in the student contract. If they are not able to

pay, they must notify the school. A period of three (3) days will be given in that case. Students will

have to pay the late fine of S$1 per day afterwards.

STUDENT CARD MATTERS

Upon registration, each student is issued a student card. Student cards will be ready one month after

the enrolment date. It is the responsibility of the students to collect their cards from the administration

department. During that one month time, students will have to bring “the yellow copy” to the class.

The student card is designed to be a student identification card. The card’s validity will be based on

the duration of each particular course that student enrolled and it is the property of the school.

Students are required to renew their student cards before the expiry dates. A student is required to

produce his/her student card upon the request by the school.

It is mandatory for students to present the card in the class. Those who are not able to prove the

student card, one month after the issue date, will not be allowed to enter the class. If the student card

is lost, they need to reapply with a fee of S$50. Upon graduation, the student card must be returned to

the administration department while applying for the certificate.

Please take note that the student card only belongs to the student who applies for it. It is not editable,

nor transferrable. Students are not allowed to use any expired student cards.

Upon enrolment, students will receive learning materials. The school has the right to designate or

change materials to provide the best knowledge of the students.

ATTENDANCE

In order for students to be eligible to sit for the examination is to attain the minimum of 75%

attendance. Students who do not attain 75% will receive a reminder letter. If no improvement is

shown, the warning letter will be issued. At the same time the students will not be allowed to sit for

the examination. They will have to retake the module and pay the modular fees. After the warning

letter, if students continue to fail to meet the minimum attendant requirement, the termination letter

will be issued.

ATTENDANCE TAKING

Students must sign their attendance in person for each session in the presence of the lecturer. You

cannot delegate another student to attend the lesson or class on your behalf and sign the attendance on

behalf of you. CIC take this very seriously and if found doing so, both will be issued the final warning

letter. You are not allowed to leave the class without any valid reasons.

If students are absent from the lesson with a valid reason, supporting documents must be submitted to

the principal. It is subject to the approval and will be considered case by case basis.

LEAVE APPLICATION

Students must apply leave when they are absent from class. They need to fill up a student request

form (Appendix 1)with supporting documents such as medical leave and etc. Please take note that it is

subject to the approval of the school. The school shall approve the following reasons with official

documents.

Medical reason approved by certified general practitioners

Compassionate leave for immediate family members

Matrimonial leave

Other reasons will be considered on a case by case basis

COURSE DEFERMENT

Course deferment means students request to stop their study for a period of time and remain as the

student of CIC. Course deferment can only be applied when students have the validity of their stay

approved by MOM or ICA. Students who wish to defer from the current programme shall inform

CIC by submitting the course deferment form (Appendix 2) and state the reasons of deferment.

Approval of deferment will be subject to the approval of CIC. Those who fall under the deferment

category but fail to return CIC after the deferment period applied for shall be deemed as withdrawn.

PROGRESS REPORT

At the end of the examination, your academic progress report will be submitted to the academic board

after the lecturer has provided the feedback. The academic board will evaluate and take necessary

actions for the improvement of students as well as the academic team of CIC.

COURSE EVALUATION

There will be feedback exercise in the form of an evaluation conducted at the end of the course as CIC

is committed to maintaining and improving the learning experience. The feedback will evaluate the

course materials, the effectiveness of lecturer, quality of CIC’s facilities and classrooms, service

provided by administration department as well as the marketing team and other feedbacks.

UPDATINGCHANGE OF STUDENT’S PARTICULARS

Students are responsible to inform the administration department in writing if there are any changes in

particulars. Failure to do so will have the result in not being able to reach you and CIC shall not be

able to inform you if there are any changes in the programme such as examination, timetable, etc. CIC

is not responsible if important information is not conveyed to you on time due to changes in the

student’s contact details.

EXAMINATION & ASSIGNMENT

EXAMINATION REGISTRATION

Students are responsible to register the exam before the deadline which is mentioned in the timetable

for each module. Please refer to Appendix 3 for exam registration form. CIC shall not take the

responsibility to inform registration deadline to individual students. Those who miss the registration

can wait until the particular module is repeated or request for the special examination. Please take

note that special exam fees $120 is chargeable.

MISSING THE REGISTERED EXAMINATION

Students who do not turn up for the registered examination will not be allowed to go in the

examination on any other days. They will have to re-register the examination until the examination for

that particular module is repeated again. Those who are not able to wait can request for the special

examination. Please take note that special exam fees $120 is chargeable. Please refer to Appendix 4

for special exam request form. Special examination can be taken only on weekdays and Saturdays.

SPECIAL EXAMINATION

Special examination is arranged for those who are not able to sit for the exam on the set date or who

miss the registered examination. The special examination fee is $120.

Under these circumstances, CIC shall waive the exam fees.

Other circumstances will be considered as case by case basis and it is subject to the approval of the

Management.

RE-SIT EXAMINATION

Re-sit examination can be taken once only for students who fail the first examination. Should the

students fail the re-sit examination, they will have to re-module. The re-module fee will be total

course fee divided by the number of modules.

EXAM RESULT

Examination result will be released on the 3rd

week after the examination week. The result will be

displayed on the notice board. Students are responsible to check their exam result.

ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

All assignments must be submitted to the administration department by the students themselves at the

latest by the stipulated submission deadline. The assignment submission deadline will be indicated in

the class schedule. CIC shall not remind students to submit the assignments. Students must staple the

assignment cover page with their student numbers and names as well as those who are in the group.

Assignments will not be given back to the students after submission. It will be filed in the student

docket together with the examination paper.

EXTENSION AND LATE SUBMISSION POLICY

Late assignments are penalised 5% per day including weekends. When you intent to ask for an

extension or defer your assignment or your examination, you should do it 7 days before the deadline

or exam date. Extension or deferment of assignment or examination are not penalised BUT are

granted only with a testimony due to serious reasons (medical, family, personal etc) from the

Academic Board. Maximum delay is set into two weeks excluding weekends and holidays. Failure to

cope with this policy automatically means that you are failing in the specific assignment / test / exam.

This does not necessarily mean that you automatically failed also in the specific course but varies with

the Assignment Weight. Students who fail a course should Re-Take it at an extra cost. The application

of extension or re-schedule should be done in a written manner according to the policy of students

hand book at the Administration Department filling the student request form and signed from the

Academic Board

The assignments are assessed as group assignments [Group effort is assessed during In-class

activities and during the final presentation]

An important point to note is the need for academic integrity (honesty) when completing the

assignments. Each assignment must be a true and honest individual effort without copying from each

other, and from textbooks, magazines or newspapers, whether these sources are in physical or

electronic form such as the Internet. However, group discussions on the assignments are encouraged

to enhance thinking and learning.

Examinations or Test (If any) Student should attend the exam / test 10mins prior to the starting time.

No any supplementary examination / test will be given; student must ensure they attend the

examination or test. All answer has to be put in the answer sheet / booklet as provided in the exam.

RULES AND REGULATION OF EXAMINATION

Before examination

Students should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time.

Students must bring the student card to prove their identity. Those who are not able to

produce the student card will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

No food and drinks are allowed in the exam room.

All unauthorised books, materials, handbags, and other personal belongings such as mobile

phones which must be switched off and placed in the bag.

All bags, carrier, etc are to be placed at the back of the exam room.

Only the necessary stationery for the purpose of the examination will be allowed to bring in to

the exam room.

Students who arrive half an hour late after the commencement of the exam will be barred

from sitting for the exam.

During examination

Students are not allowed to leave the examination room during the first 30 minutes and the

last 30 minutes of the examination.

Students are not allowed to communicate each other or borrow the stationery from other

students during the examination.

Students found copying and/or possessing of unauthorised reference materials in the exam are

suspected of cheating and will be barred from continuing their exam and have to leave the

exam hall. The exam will be failed. No appeal will be accepted.

Students who need to use the washroom should raise their hands. Only one student at a time is

allowed to leave the exam room with accompany of the invigilator. The student who is

granted this temporary absence is not allowed to communicate to anyone verbally or by

telecommunication means nor bring any times into the exam hall. If found doing so, it will be

deemed as failure for the exam.

All answers must be written in either blue or black ink only. If the answers are written in

pencil, the exam paper will not be marked.

Invigilators have the right to ask the students to leave from the exam hall if they disrupt the

exam.

Students must stop writing immediately when the scheduled exam time is finished. Students

who continue writing after the conclusion of the exam will receive a warning from the

invigilator and their name will be reported to the Examination Board for further action.

Students are to remain seated while the invigilator collects the answer paper.

Students are not allowed to remove the exam question paper during or after the exam. The

exam question paper and answer booklet must be submitted to the invigilator. Failure to do so

will automatically result in a fail grade.

CERTIFICATION & GRADUATION

Certificate Request & Release Date

Upon successfully passing all the required examinations, students can request the certificate at the

administration department, by filling up the certificate request form (Appendix 5). Kindly take

note that the certificate request will be accepted if there is no outstanding fees payable to CIC. It

is the responsibility of the student to provide the correct information.

There will not be any charges for the certificate request for the first standard diploma. However, If

the student takes double diploma, $60 for the second diploma is chargeable.

The student can collect the certificate two months after the request date.

Urgent Certificate Request

If students want to collect the certificate urgently, additional charges $120 for urgent request may

apply.

Loss of Certificate/Transcript

Students may request the certificate/transcript if they lose them. $60 is chargeable for the

replacement of loss of certificate/transcript. The processing time may take about 1 month after the

request date. If students need it urgently, the additional fees may be chargeable.

Documentation Record Fee

The documentation record fee $180 is applied to all the students who enrol the courses at CIC.

For those who take up the second standard diploma will be waived from charging the

documentation record fee.

Graduation

Graduation ceremony will be held either May or June every year. Kindly take note that CIC may

change it, if necessary.

Students will be notified the graduation date. They are required to notify the school for their

attendance before the deadline. The following fees may apply:

The graduation gown deposit (refundable) - $120

The graduation gown rental fee - $30

Additional ticket per guest - $70

Please take note that CIC has to right to change the graduation fees if necessary.

Request of Graduation Photo

Students must come to school within one month after the graduation date to choose the photo.

The school provide one group photo and one photo on stage for every graduates. The request for

photo after one month is not accepted. They can collect the photos one month after the request

date.

FEE PROTECTION SCHEME

PEI can only collect fees according to the guidelines stated in the Private Education Regulations.

PEI’s undertaking to have FPS:

CIC hereby confirms and undertakes to the student that it has in place a Fee Protection Scheme as

stipulated by the Council for Private Education (CPE) (the “FPS”) by way of an insurance facility.

Deemed Withdrawal

A Student who transfers from the Course to another course with the PEI shall, for the purposes of

this Clause 1, be deemed to have withdrawn from the Course and the provisions of Clause 1.4

shall apply save as otherwise agreed between the PEI and the Student.

Change of Course

Further to Clause 1.6, a fresh PEI-Student Contract under this format shall be executed between

the PEI and the Student for any change of Course, whether with the same PEI or otherwise.

Force Majeure

In the event that any party shall be rendered unable to carry out the whole or any part of its

obligations under this Agreement for any reason beyond the control of that party, including but not

limited to acts of God, force majeure, strikes, war, riot and any other causes of such nature,

then the performance of the obligations hereunder of that party or all the parties as the case may

be and as they are affected by such cause shall be excused during the continuance of any inability

so caused, but such inability shall as far as possible be remedied with all reasonable dispatch. For

the avoidance of doubt, this Clause shall not apply to cases where:

The PEI is declared to be insolvent and/or a winding-up order made or bankruptcy issued by the

Singapore court against the PEI (or, any partner of the PEI if the PEI is a partnership); and

The relevant authority (ies) issue(s) an order to cease and/or terminate the operations of the PEI,

or the happening of anything of a similar nature under the laws of Singapore.

No Double Claim

For the avoidance of doubt, if the Student and/or his/her parent/guardian receives any payment

from the PEI or the Insurance Company pursuant to a provision of this Agreement or the Master

Insurance Agreement in respect of any matter or damage, then the Student and his/her

parent/guardian shall not be entitled to claim against the PEI or the Insurance Company for the

same payment in respect of the same matter or damage pursuant to any other provision of this

Agreement or the Master Insurance Agreement.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES AND FLOWCHART

To ensure that students understand how to pursue appropriately a grievance. Although a student may

seek such advice from any teacher, lecturer or staff member, the school has customer service officers,

administrators and education consultants trained to assist students who have grievances. Students are

encouraged to seek assistance from the Administration Office in pursuance of any type of grievances.

Procedures:

Step 1

If a complainant feels that he/she has been discriminated against, the student must first bring the

problems to the attention of the school within five (5) school days of the knowledge or alleged cause

for occurrence of grievances.

Step 2

The complainant, coordinator, and other involved parties will work informally to negotiate a solution

within seven (7) school days or a total of ten (10) school days from the day the grievances were

reported.

Step 3

If the grievances cannot be satisfactorily resolved informally, the student may want to proceed to file

a formal grievance to the Management within seven (7) school days or a total of fifteen (15) school

days from filing the grievances of the complainant within twenty-one (21) school days time frame. In

the event that the student and the Management are unable to resolve a dispute in accordance with the

grievances procedures within the given time frame, the dispute will be referred to 3rd

Party for

mediation as stipulated under clause 5.3 in the “Standard PEI - Student Contract”.

Step 4

Personal counseling services are provided for students and teachers/lecturers. The Management

reserves any legal rights to resolve the above matters.

DISCIPLINARY MATTERS

Code of Conduct

There is no dress code for students while in the premise of PEI. Nonetheless, should you be

dressed inappropriately [some examples include singlets (tank tops), athletic shorts, clothes

with indecent words or pictures], you can be asked to return only when appropriately attired.

CIC is a smoke-free school. Please refrain from smoking near buildings and areas where

groups of people are gathered.

Students are advised not to bring any valuable items to school. School will not be liable for

any loss or theft. Use of mobile phone is not allowed when attending classes. No food &

drinks are allowed inside the classroom.

Loyalty, integrity and honesty are qualities expected of all students. All students should be

courteous, polite and well-behaved at all times. Orderliness must be observed at all times.

Attendance is important. It is required to record every lesson / classes. Students are required

to attend a minimum of 75% of the total classes per module / subject for the qualification of

examination.

Students must be attentive in class and all assignments must be handed in on time and must be

adequately prepared for their lessons.

Students are required to be punctual for classes. The class schedule is given at the

commencement of each term/level. Any changes thereafter, the student will be notified by the

school through notices, and any other means available at the time.

All forms of dishonesty such as cheating, plagiarism, forgery and falsification, alteration or

misuse of PEI documents are strictly prohibited.

Misbehaviour that causes a disruption of teaching and administration will be dealt by the

management of CIC.

Abuse, violence or threats towards other persons, property of students, faculty , and staff of

CIC will be held accountable for or will be reported.

No animals are allowed on the school premise.

PEI does not provide childcare service. Should you bring children into the premise of PEI,

PEI shall not take responsibility of their health and safety.

Bringing dangerous items, threatening, committing physical and verbal abuse, intimidation,

harassment, stalking to the staff and students will be reported to the police.

Gambling is strictly prohibited.

Instigating the students and staff and spreading the rumours that can damage the image of PEI

seriously offend PEI’s regulations and PEI has the right to terminate that student if found

doing so.
