OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMIf you are thinking of starting a business it is important to have the right skills and training behind you. This Start-Up Entrepreneurship program will give participants the skills needed to make great business ideas become a reality.

SAMPLE PROGRAM

OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMThis program will focus on developing traditional skills and techniques and advances participants understanding of contemporary culture, both historically and theoretically. This is a hands-on, practical program which explores multiple visual art forms. Participants are encouraged to have open discussions with their trainers and classmates and explore creative thinking.

The program includes a visit to The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). GOMA is located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane’s South Bank. The Gallery’s vision is to be the leading institution for the contemporary art of Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Participants are invited to present project work and share their experience in the program to classmates and their trainers at graduation.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMThis program will immerse participants in the world of modern hospitality services. Participants will learn how to make and serve espresso coffee, how to provide exceptional customer service and learn the art of bartending. At the conclusion of the program, students will step into back-of-house operations for a fun workshop to experience a day in the life of a Patisserie Chef and try their hand at baking in a commercial kitchen.

SAMPLE PROGRAM

OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMParticipants are required to attend classes from 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday. The program follows a period of formal academic study and practical training in the areas of building and construction and automotive engine reconditioning. The majority of the studies are practical in stimulated working environments. Participants are encouraged to engage with their peers and trainers to problem solve performance issues and test theories using the Dyno Monitor in Automotive High Performance Testing. In construction workshops, participants are encouraged to try and test their techniques in craftsmanship.

Participants are invited to present project work and share their experience with classmates and their trainers at graduation.

PERFORMANCE TESTING

Personal Protection Equipment: Students will be expected to attend classes wearing appropriate safety gear. This equipment is referred to by TAFE Queensland as A Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) pack. The pack is included in the price and will be provided to students on their first day.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMExperienced trainers from the Child Care industry will share the latest trends and research in Early Childhood Education and Care. Participants will train in a simulated play group setting and have the opportunity to engage with Australian students also training to work in the industry. This program is focused on sharing industry insights and expectations for workers in the Child Care industry e.g. Preschool Assistants. Program content includes healthy food and drink provisions for children in childcare, how to engage with families and how to facilitate educational playgroups. This program is highly recommended for anyone seeking employment or further study in childcare or early schooling.

SKYRAIL RAINFOREST CABLEWAY, KURANDA SCENIC RAILWAY AND TJAPUKAI ABORIGINAL CULTURAL CENTRECAIRNS HALF DAY TRIPGliding just metres above the rainforest canopy in comfortable six-person gondola cabins, the Skyrail journey immerses guests in an intimate rainforest experience where you’ll see, hear, smell and become part of the tropical rainforest environment.

The Skyrail experience takes approximately 1 ½ hours and includes spending time at the two rainforest mid-stations. Allow 20 minutes for each station, to enjoy Ranger guided boardwalk tours and visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre, lookouts and historical displays.

The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway was built over 120 years ago and winds its way through the tropical mountain ranges between Cairns and Kuranda.

This package includes time for participants to explore Kuranda ‘The Village in the Rainforest’ where there are plenty of rainforest walks, markets, cafés, restaurants, and galleries to visit.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is located within walking distance of Skyrail’s Smithfield Terminal and combines dance, history and legends to create a dynamic interpretation of 40,000 years of culture.

NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND BRISBANE DAY TRIPStradbroke Island is a unique island situated one hour east of Brisbane, accessed by a 45 minute ferry ride. It is the second largest sand island in the world, the first being Fraser Island a few hours further north. The day’s activities include fish and chips for lunch, a 1.5 kilometre beach walk, a visit to Brown Lake and a gelato pit-stop. Brown Lake is a beautiful, freshwater lake which is coloured by the surrounding tea tree leaves. The lake is very clean and is a great spot for an afternoon swim. During the day’s activities students are likely to see wild kangaroos, turtles and dolphins.

AUSTRALIA ZOO BRISBANE, GOLD COAST OR TOOWOOMBA HALF DAY TRIPAustralia Zoo is a unique wildlife conservation facility one hour north of Brisbane on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. It offers up-close and personal encounters with endangered species. The Zoo keepers are passionate about wildlife and creating a memorable experience for every visitor. Visitors are welcome to a variety of shows throughout the day including koalas and crocodiles.

CAIRNS CITY TOUR AND NORTHERN BEACHES CAIRNS HALF DAY TRIPTour includes a guided coach tour of Cairns City, beaches and tourist hot spots.

English Language Training:

It’s very important for the students study experience and the overall success of the program that participants meet the minimum English level of 5.0 IELTS (or equivalent). If there is any uncertainly we can arrange a placement test prior to their arrival and if needed, arrange a translator for the duration of the program.

GOLD COAST’S SURFERS PARADISE BEACH AND SHOPPINGBRISBANE, GOLD COAST OR TOOWOOMBA HALF DAYVisit the Gold Coast famous Surfers Paradise. Participants will have the opportunity to go shopping and enjoy the Gold Coast’s pristine beaches.

GREEN ISLAND CAIRNS HALF DAY OR FULL DAY TRIP: Green Island is a beautiful coral cay on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Green Island is a Marine National Park with unique rainforests surrounded by white sandy beaches and magnificent coral reefs with abundant marine life. The visit takes two hours and includes the choice of snorkeling gear or a glass bottom boat tour. “Reef Rocket” is a modern comfortable air-conditioned high-speed catamaran with a relaxed atmosphere. Travel time to Green Island is 45 minutes from Cairns. Passengers can take part in the many activities available or simply relax on the beach. The friendly crew will help participants to organise activities to make the most of the time on Green Island.
