changes, including a new XML-based file format, a redesigned interface, an integrated equation editor and bibliographic management. Additionally, an XML data bag was introduced, accessible via the object model and file format, called Custom XML – this can be used in conjunction with a new feature called Content Controls to implement structured documents. MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCELMICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL• A tabulation of "what's new" in Excel

2007 is found in Dodge and Stinson.[45] The most obvious change is a completely revamped menu system, which means a user must abandon most habits acquired from previous versions. On-line help frequently cannot locate a feature you use, so a handbook with a good index can be invaluable. Some practical advantages of the new system, which actually make the update worthwhile, are greatly improved management of named variables through the Name Manager, and much improved flexibility in formatting graphs, which now allow (x, y) coordinate labeling and lines of arbitrary weight. The number of rows is now 1,048,576 and columns is 16,384. Several improvements to pivot tables were introduced. New file extensions are used, including .xlsm for a workbook with macros and .xlsx for a workbook without macros.

• PowerPoint is used by business people, educators, students, and trainers. From Microsoft Office 2003 to 2008 for Mac, Microsoft revised the brand labeling to emphasize PowerPoint's place within the office suite, calling it Microsoft Office PowerPoint instead of just Microsoft PowerPoint. However, from Office 2010 (for Windows) and the upcoming Office:Mac 2011, the name was changed back to 'Microsoft PowerPoint'. The current versions are Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 for Windows and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2008 for Mac.

MICROSOFT OFFICE ONENOTE• Microsoft OneNote, formerly Microsoft Office

OneNote, is a software package for free-form information gathering and multi-user collaboration.

• OneNote's interface is an electronic version of the familiar tabbed ring binder which can be used directly for making notes, but also to gather material obtained from other applications. OneNote notebooks are designed for collecting, organizing and sharing possibly unpolished materials, typically for projects, while word processors and wikis are usually targeted at publishing in some way. The difference shows in certain features and characteristics (e.g. pages can be arbitrarily large; bitmap images can be pasted in without quality loss); there is no support for enforcing a uniform page layout or structure). Pages can be moved inside the binder, annotated with a stylus, word-processing or drawing tools. Users may add embedded multimedia recordings and web links. OneNote's file format (.one) is proprietary. The published API has resulted in a small number of extensions being written.

There are third-party add-on applications that integrate Outlook with devices such as BlackBerry mobile phones and with other software like Office & Skype internet communication. Developers can also create their own custom software that works with Outlook and Office components using Microsoft Visual Studio.[1] In addition, Windows Mobile devices can synchronize almost all Outlook data to Outlook Mobile.

MICROSOFT OFFICE GROOVE

• Microsoft SharePoint Workspace,[1] previously known as Microsoft Office Groove, is a desktop application designed for document collaboration in teams with members who are regularly off-line or who do not share the same network security clearance.

• Groove's uses have included coordination between emergency relief agencies[2] where different organizations do not share a common security infrastructure and where offline access is important, and amongst teams of knowledge workers, such as consultants who need to work securely on client sites. It is also used as a staging system for documents in development, where content can be worked up then transferred to a portal when complete.

• Groove was initially developed by Lotus Notes creator Ray Ozzie, and developed by Groove Networks of Beverly, Massachusetts until Microsoft's acquisition of Groove Networks in March 2005.[3]
