As a school community we will strive to achieve these directions, they will be regularly communicated and evaluated, our school planning will be focussed on these directions and we will be reporting to our community annually on our progress. Strategic Direction One – Engaged and Challenged Continuous Learners To provide a collaborative approach to student learning where there are high expectations and an ongoing commitment to learning. Students, parents and staff are working in partnership so every student is engaged and challenged through goal setting, planning, assessing and reporting on improving the learning. Strategic Direction Two – Teaching culture of collaboration, innovation and evidence-based practice To maintain a positive and collaborative culture where teachers demonstrate contemporary content knowledge and deploy innovative and effective teaching strategies, underpinned by evidence-based practices. Maintaining focus on the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy skills and support continuous improvement. CHANGES TO BUS ROUTINES TO AND FROM SCHOOL Please follow the instructions below in the case of any changes to your child’s routine when coming to school and going home. Morning: Notify your driver (preferably by text message) if your child is not going to catch the bus or if there is a change of location for pickup. Include your child’s name and your name as the driver may not have your number and may need to forward your text to an alternate driver. Afternoon: Notify the school if your child is: not catching a bus/catching the other bus/using an alternative drop-off location/someone other than you is picking them up. Science Last week the 3-6 class completed a science experiment that displayed how plants circulate water. All plants have a stomata (small opening) in their leaves in which water can evaporate. Most plants have stomata that close during the heat of the day. This helps to prevent rapid loss of water. The plastic bag caused the leaves to lose the water stored and landed in the plastic bag. This was a fun experiment to complete. Well done! School Attendance Regular attendance at school is essential for students to achieve quality life outcomes. Schools, in partnership with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. Parents of children from Kindergarten to Year 12 must ensure their children attend school every day. On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school. Parents must provide an explanation for absences to the school within 7 days from the first day of any period of absence. Our school aims to provide quality and consistent education for all students. Parents, please note the Compulsory School Attendance information sheet attached. Library is on each Tuesday. Remember to bring your library books and bag.

After consultation with our school community our school identified two strategic directions as the focus for the following three years.
