Program Articulation Agreement between Adelphi University And Suffolk County Communi~llege ---- 1. Purpose This agreement between Adelphi University and Suffolk County Community College provides the terms and conditions for students of Suffolk County Community College who have an Associate of Science: Visual Arts and seek admission by transfer to the Bachelor of Arts: Fine Art at Adelphi University. The parties will use their best efforts to minimize loss of credits and duplication of coursework. 2. Admission Suffolk County Community College graduates are required to meet the minimum criteria for admission to Adelphi University. At this time, the University requires a grade point average (GPA) of 2.3 based upon a maximum GPA of 4.0. A portfolio review by the Faculty of the Art Department of Adelphi University will be required for admission to the Bachelor of Arts: Fine Art program. Applicants whose GPA falls bellow a 2.3 but above a 2.0 will be given individual consideration on a case-by-case basis. 3. _ Transfer of Credits Suffolk County Community College students will be eligible to receive up to a maximum of 64 transfer credits at Adelphi University. Only courses completed with a grade of "C-" or higher will be accepted in transfer to the University. Students who complete the Associate of Science at Suffolk County Community College are exempt from taking Adelphi University's General Education Distribution requirements. 4. Scholarships Scholarships range from $1,500 to $9,000, based on cumulative G.P.A. and full-time study (part-time scholarships are also available). The minimum cumulative G.P.A. required for scholarship is a 3.0. Need-based financial aid is also available to those who qualify. Priority filing date for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is February 15 for fall applicants and October 15 for spring applicants. 5. Terms of Agreement This agreement becomes effective on the date of signature by representatives of the institutions reflected below. The terms ofthis agreement may be modified or terminated at any time upon the mutual consent of both institutions with appropriate notification. In the event it is decided at any time to modify or terminate this agreement, commitments made to individual students already in the program will continue in effect in the terms applicable at the time the student enrolled in the program. 4/26/2010 Adelphi University 1
