Program Articulation Agreement betweenAdelphi University
AndSuffolk County Communi~llege----
1. PurposeThis agreement between Adelphi University and Suffolk County Community Collegeprovides the terms and conditions for students of Suffolk County Community Collegewho have an Associate of Science: Visual Arts and seek admission by transfer to theBachelor of Arts: Fine Art at Adelphi University. The parties will use their best efforts tominimize loss of credits and duplication of coursework.
2. AdmissionSuffolk County Community College graduates are required to meet the minimum criteriafor admission to Adelphi University. At this time, the University requires a grade pointaverage (GPA) of 2.3 based upon a maximum GPA of 4.0. A portfolio review by theFaculty of the Art Department of Adelphi University will be required for admission to theBachelor of Arts: Fine Art program.
Applicants whose GPA falls bellow a 2.3 but above a 2.0 will be given individualconsideration on a case-by-case basis.
3. _ Transfer of CreditsSuffolk County Community College students will be eligible to receive up to a maximumof 64 transfer credits at Adelphi University. Only courses completed with a grade of "C-"or higher will be accepted in transfer to the University.
Students who complete the Associate of Science at Suffolk County Community Collegeare exempt from taking Adelphi University's General Education Distributionrequirements.
4. ScholarshipsScholarships range from $1,500 to $9,000, based on cumulative G.P.A. and full-timestudy (part-time scholarships are also available). The minimum cumulative G.P.A.required for scholarship is a 3.0. Need-based financial aid is also available to those whoqualify. Priority filing date for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) isFebruary 15 for fall applicants and October 15 for spring applicants.
5. Terms of AgreementThis agreement becomes effective on the date of signature by representatives of theinstitutions reflected below. The terms ofthis agreement may be modified or terminatedat any time upon the mutual consent of both institutions with appropriate notification. Inthe event it is decided at any time to modify or terminate this agreement, commitmentsmade to individual students already in the program will continue in effect in the termsapplicable at the time the student enrolled in the program.
