Introduction

Page 3: SUGAR_TITLE_ALLR1

The basics of creating sugar art is verysimple, consisting of Maltose Syrup orgranulated sugar being melted in a wokallowed to cool and harden on a flatsurface and then reheated and drizzledfrom a small ladle onto a marble surface. The hot sugar substance hitting thecolder marble surface causes it to cooland harden quickly, so the artist mustwork swiftly to construct a painting ofvarious creatures. Once the painting iscompleted a wooden stick is attached tothe painting with a few drops of theliquid and then it is removed from themarble with a spatula device and sold orput on display. The level of detail in thesugar paintings is directly related to theskill of the artist.
