This is a long shot used to show who the main characters of the film are. This is a conventional shot for horror films as connections to the characters are relatively important.

A scene where someone is killed is popular of the genre, as the horror film genre is to do with killing. In this scene there it s tire iron used, and it is popular that the killers in horror films have unique/iconic weapons such as a tire iron or a chainsaw.

This is a silhouette shot showing the characters standing by a mine shaft. This is conventional of horror films that the horror takes place in old dark, abandoned and secluded locations.
