For more than 20 years, Camp Canadian Island (CCI) has offered children and teens an unforgettable summer experience in both the heart of Florence, and the Tuscan hillsides that surround it. With day camp and sleepover options in three locations throughout the region, CCI is endorsed by the city of Florence as the preeminent Tuscan summer experience for children. Planning a family trip to Italy but don’t know what to do with your toddlers while
you wine taste or tour museums? Local to the area but not sure what your kids can do with time off from school this summer? Want your teen to learn about Italian culture? Give your child a unique and unforgettable international experience with CCI, the only summer camp in Tuscany serving children ages 3-17, and offering language immersion courses in English and Italian.

CCI AND TUSCANY
A PERFECT MARRIAGEFamous for its Renaissance painters, sculptures, writers and filmmakers, there is something in the Tuscan air that ignites the artist’s soul. Abundant with freshly harvestedfruits and vegetables, it is not only the human spirit, but the land too, that is fertile with creativity.
Capitalizing on these innate gifts of the area, CCI draws from its environment to engage your children in the arts and nature.

CCI CAMPCOUNSELORS AND STAFF
Many CCI Staff members have been with CCI since its inception over 20 years ago, and some of our counselors were CCI campers once themselves. CCI follows a rigorous hiring process to select its counselors and staff, assuring they are kind, caring, positive, enthusiastic and experienced. We strive for excellence, innovation, safety and professionalism while creating a strong sense of family unity, and each hire must reflect these values.
CCI is a place where friendships, creativity, experiential learning, healthy life choices, and character are nurtured through recreational, and cultural challenges. In short, CCI is a place where campers grow through making friendships, and having fun. It is the primary job of both counselors and staff members to create a safe environment, and to help campers do this.

Situated in an Etruscan village, Villa Gonfienti holds both historical value and is strategically located just minu-tes from the center of Prato. Although it is near the city, the villa is surroun-
ded by greenery and outdoor space, giving the appearance of being far away in the countryside. CCI Junior Camp: Prato is the perfect space to run, create, and play, all summer long!

Set within the renowned Tuscan countryside, surroun-ded by olive groves and vineyards, and overlooking the Mediterranean, CCI: La Capitana is truly a unique sum-mer camp experience. La Capitana campus includes an exquisite 18th century, 12 bedroom farmhouse, (with five additional mini-apartments, all with ensuite bathrooms for older campers) which captures the essence of Tuscan majesty. Far from the camp bunks of your youth, the ro-oms contain individually designed beds, updated bathro-oms, and Tuscan décor, providing your children with both comfort and beauty; you will truly be envious that your children get to be here. Certified as an Agritourism sum-mer camp, CCI: La Capitana is set within a working farm complete with barn animals, a swimming pool, a soccer field, game rooms, a performance hall, a yoga and dance room, a dining hall, and many outdoor areas to explore. Your children will help harvest the food they eat, parti-cipate in the many activities listed below, and experien-ce the best of Tuscan country living. While the offerings on premises at CCI: La Capitana are more than can fill a summer, campers also enjoy day excursions off-campus to explore the Tuscan region. Aside from learning about Tu-scan culture by visiting nearby villages, campers also visit local waterslides, beaches, and ropes parks. Always super-vised, and safety-prioritized, there is never a shortage of fun at CCI: La Capitana.

CCI TEENS CAMP
Teens Week
AGE12 - 16
Comprised of 20 private hectares, the land on which CCI: Pian di Fiume sits is crossed by the river Lima and surrounded by lots of nature and sunny skies. Halfway up the hill above the river, the architecture of the farmhouse becomes one with the land, thanks to the careful restoration which brought life back to the ancient hamlet. In line with the maximum respect for the environment, Pian di Fiume uses a system of constructed wetlands for sewage and an alternative power plant with photovoltaic and solar panels. During the restoration, the use of traditional natural materials like cork, native wood, stone and terracotta, were used, rendering the farmhouse both beautiful and environmentally safe. Both the internal and external spaces are perfect for studying a language, and participating in group games and activities. Outdoor spaces provide endless hours of fun whether it be by excursion on foot, horseback riding, mountain biking, or one of the many water activities available, including canoeing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) or rafting. Locally sourced food is made on-site and bread is cooked in a wood burning oven. The pool, 140 cm deep, is surrounded by greenery, making it the perfect alternative to participating in water sports directly on, and with private access to, the river Lima. All this space makes Pian di Fiume the perfect place for a teenager to spend an exciting vacation.
