Phoenix Youth R.I.S.E. (Reach and Invest in Sum-mer Employment) is actively recruiting city depart-ments to create summer internship opportunities for Phoenix youth.

The city’s Human Services Department, Workforce Division, is asking city leaders to bring on youth, ages 16 to 24, to learn about their departments and provide pathways of employment that will strengthen their connection to the world of employ-ment and provide businesses untapped talent to build their own workforce of the future.

The Phoenix Youth R.I.S.E. Summer In-ternship program will be paid 100 percent by General Purpose Funds. Departments will not be responsi-ble for paying for the youth who work in their areas.

The five-week, up to 40 hours per week, internship program will begin June 17 and run through July 19.

City departments can download an application to participate and provide job description information.

Supervisors and mentors will be provided with a two-hour orientation of what to expect from the program and the youth interns in early June.
