Summer Ranger Programs National Park Service U.S. Department of the Interior Summer 2018 Junior Ranger Wildlife Olympics Fun for all ages! During this Summer Olympics year, test your skills and compare your abilities to animals in Yellowstone. How far can you jump? How well can you see and smell? Take part in Junior Ranger Wildlife Olympics on scheduled Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between noon and 3 PM. Stay for as little or as long as your plans allow. Old Faithful (Mondays 12–3 PM) Near Old Faithful Visitor Education Center June 11, 18, 25 • July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 • August 6, 13, 20 Canyon Village (Wednesdays 12–3 PM) Near Canyon Visitor Education Center June 6, 13, 20, 27 • July 4, 11, 18, 25 • August 1, 8, 15, 22 Mammoth Hot Springs (Fridays 12–3 PM) Near Albright Visitor Center June 8, 15, 22, 29 • July 6, 13, 20, 27 • August 3, 10, 17, 24 Stars Over Yellowstone The Museum of the Rockies (Bozeman, Montana) has partnered with Yellowstone since 1999 to offer this educational program series. Enjoy programs about astronomy, find constellations, hear stories, and view celestial objects through telescopes, weather permitting. Night Sky Observing 10:30 PM Fridays and Saturdays: June 15 & 16 and July 13 & 14 Madison Information Station Parking Lot. Find the Milky Way, planets, craters on the Moon, the center of the Galaxy, star clusters, and nebula. Telescopes available. Bring a flashlight. Safe Solar Observing 12 noon–2 PM Saturdays: June 16 and July 13. Old Faithful Visitor Education Center area. Safely view the sun through telescopes. Great for the whole family. Presented by Mr. Jim Manning, science education consultant and former Executive Director of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. Presented by Jim Manning.
