Though Corey Hertzog and company weren’t able to crack the Cincinnati defense, the nil-nil draw still gave the Hounds points in three-straight home matches dating back to August 13.

Game Notes:
Team Rosters:
Pittsburgh: Bethlehem:
• The Riverhounds (6-16-6) finish up their road schedule at Bethlehem to face Steel FC (6-13-9) for the third time this season. The first two meetings saw the clubs each snag a victory at home. Pittsburgh will have the opportunity to capture a head-to-head series for the fourth time this season with a victory – Wilmington (2-0), Toronto (1-0-1) and Orlando (1-1 | +1 GD) being the other instances.
• Though officially eliminated from playoff contention after a nil-nil draw against FC Cincinnati earlier this week, the Hounds have experienced perhaps their best stretch of play over the past month. Starting with a victory over Steel FC on August 13, the Hounds have gone 3-2-2 in their last seven matches, including racking up points in three-straight at home. The eight-point burst has accounted for a third of their points on the year, with the club holding opponents to a goal or less in five of those seven matches.

• Crew SC loanee Zack Steffen has started all seven of those matches in goal for the Hounds, racking up two clean sheets in the process. The backline’s steady play has also buoyed Steffen, holding opponents to three shots on goal or less in three of the keeper’s starts, including allowing a season-best two shots on goal against Orlando City B.
• Bethlehem enters the match still fighting for a playoff spot, trailing eighth-place Orlando by five points. The Steel have struggled, as of late, not winning a game since July 14 – a stretch of 10 matches – though the numbers may be deceiving. Going 0-7-3 in their last 10, only one of those losses for the Steel has been by more than one goal, as they have been outscored 19-to-11.
