Welcome!  We are so glad you have joined us!  If you are new to Chaparral, please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up information about our Church.  Getting connected is one of the most important ways to grow your faith and get to know others in meaningful ways.

A two week new member class will be held on January 16th & 23rd from 5:30-6:30 in the Conference Room These classes will be taught by our senior minister, Frank Shirvinski. This is a great way for newer people to learn more about our Church and its ministries not to mention how to get involved, what we believe, and the history of our Church. It will also be an opportunity to meet the ministry team!

The class will conclude with a casual dinner on January 28th in the Commons from 6:00 to 7:30. We would love to spend some time with you to get to know you better! Sign up online today!

First Sunday for Kids is a worship experience for our 1st- 5th graders where the Bible comes to life! On the First Sunday of each month at 9:45, kids get to experience the Bible firsthand by acting out scriptures, playing silly games that reinforce Bible teachings, high energy worship and see real life examples of how to live out your faith by seeing it put into action.

Our theme this year is 1 Timothy 4:12. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believer, in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. The other three Sundays kids can explore the Bible in age-appropriate classes with fantastic teachers! Your kids will love it!

MOM (Morning Out for Mom) has a NEW day!1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 9:15-11:45 a.m.We meet at different places but always have fun! Childcare provided in Toddler Room free of charge. RSVP to [email protected] for childcare.

2011 is going to be an exciting year for Jr. and Sr. High students with new events like the Winter Retreat, ski day trip, and Revolve young women's conference.

January 23rd we will resume our Sunday night meetings, continuing with what has been our greatest evening program as of late.  We'll gather for a mix of contemplative prayer exercises, small group open discussions, game nights and off campus events as we grow as a group and, most importantly, in our understanding of and relationship with God. We're looking forward to new social events and service opportunities and hope you'll join the family and fellowship of young disciples at Chaparral.

Converge Winter retreat, January 14th-16th, 8th-12th grade students, sign up by January 2nd. In what places and what times do heaven and earth seem to overlap? When have you found yourself in the presence of God? Wouldn't you like to experience God more?  We'll spend a weekend of fellowship exploring these questions as we enter into the presence of God in worship and prayer.

Join the Young Adult Community - Roots It is not a Bible study group but a gathering of 20s or 30s, married or single, with or without children then you are invited to be part of Chaparral’s Young Adult community.  Each week you will enjoy great company, something delicious to eat, and have a time to ask for prayer. Email [email protected] for more info.

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!

Helpful Information

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.

Several of our “regularly scheduled” weekly programs will have a special holiday schedule. Please check with the leader of the class for any changes.
