Who can be a Sunday school teacher?

One who:

Has accepted Jesus as his personal savior

Accept this service as a calling from God

Is always available before the Lord, to learn from Him

Has time to learn from the word of God. “Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy”

Loves their family and comes together for meditation and family prayer

Regularly attends our church service and partakes in the Holy Communion

Believes in, and Is loyal and faithful to Mar Thoma church, and its faith practices.

WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER ?

Regular attendance and punctuality for all Sunday School sessions

Discipline

Prepare the lessons prayerfully, sufficiently in advance. Earmark Thursday evenings for lesson preparations

Pray regularly for your Sunday school children and teach them to pray

Encourage them to share each ones’ burden

Be a model to the children

Be a parent, friend, teacher, counselor to them

Find time to share our Savior in the class

Treat your class as a family

Develop inter-personal relationship among teachers

Attend teachers meetings, prayers, conferences, VBS and all activities of Sunday school

To be a Sunday school teacher is a noble, but humble service for the kingdom of God where you are entrusted with a flock of children to nurture them in the ways acceptable to God. Often, Sunday School teachers’ services are not recognized or commended by the community. Are you willing to work without public acclaim? Our need is for committed teachers who are willing to lead the children to Jesus.
