'Meet the Author' Opportunity at Reef PharmacyChances are at some point in your journey you've been

SLAMMED by one of life’s unexpected tidal waves.

5511 Publishing is proud to announce a “Meet the Author” book signing of An-drea Maher’s new release “SLAMMED: Overcoming Tragedy in the Wave of Grief, A Survival Guide. The event will be held on Saturday, January 31st from 11 am to 1 pm and is hosted by Reef Family Pharmacy located on 804 S. Route 9 in Cape May Court House.

Divorce, death, betrayal, injury, loss, and a host of other life-altering tragedies are the unanticipated storms that shake us to the core and often leave us drown-ing in the sea of despair, disillusionment, and devastation. Andrea Maher, former columnist of Family Matters in the Her-ald, is very familiar with this scenario as she has been “slammed” several times.

In the book, Andrea shares her per-sonal journey through pain, loss, and shocking devastation, and she reveals how God has been faithful through it all. Andrea will encourage, inspire, and motivate you to remain

calm and fearless as you move forward in your journey, relying solely on God’s promise and proven character as you look for a greater purpose in pain. Whether it is divorce, death, betrayal, injury, loss or a host of other life-altering tragedies that leave those in its path drowning in a sea of despair, disillusionment and devastation.

The book is available locally at Reef Family Pharmacy, Muscle World Gym and Miracles in Ocean View. It is also being sold at Country Table Restaurant in Lancaster and is avail-able for purchase online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. All proceeds to this book go to the “Be Still Foun-dation” in which Andrea Maher is the Executive Director. The “Be Still Foundation”, develops educational programs that advocate responsible decision-making for the prevention of risky behaviors and provides strate-gies to overcome adversity.

The public is invited and light re-freshments will be served.

Lower Cape May Regional Students to Hold Art Exhibit

CAPE MAY - Lower Cape May Regional Advanced Art Students proudly announce the seventh annual art exhibit entitled “Strings and Things”. The show will be at the Mad Batter Restaurant, 19 Jackson Street Cape May, from Feb. 5 through March 5. An opening reception will be held for student artists, family, friends, and public Feb. 8 from 3 to 5 pm. The work displayed was created by art teacher Patricia Neville’s advanced art classes. The students studied traditional painting techniques that emphasized the use of chiaroscuro and blending techniques. Students worked in acrylic paints depicting a still-life painting in the subject of their choice. Senior Peter Mayer’s interest in music can be seen in his painting entitled, “Jamming”. Senior Amber Ziess’s painting, “Nectar of the Vine” emphasizes a traditional subject matter. Senior Jenny Weidman chose to create a still-life “in motion” entitled, “Chance”. Senior Jessica Hedum, who played tennis throughout her high school career focused on a dramatic still-life depicting

her love of the game. Additional students showing work include: Emily Maxlowe, Eryka Phillips, Gabriell Helton, Domnic Gredone, Megan Jarbeck, Gina Waddington, Mariah Cottrell, Kasey Whitten, Brittany Bedsole, Sean Jacoby, Den-nis Felsing, Heather McElroy, Ayerelis Sanchez, Devin Wilson, and Corey Wright.
