Supply Chain Professionals: Aligned and Collaborative Changes in Supply Chain: Supply Chain has changed dramatically since I started recruiting for PinPoint Solutions nearly 8 years ago. Moving into 2016, these are some of the most impactful changes we have seen in key areas.

Technology: There has been a well-needed shift in Technology. While far from perfect, there has been strong progress made through consolidation of smaller ERP providers and implementation of some of the best practices. The systems are much more comprehensive and powerful. Combined with bluetooth, RFID, and shared “live time” network access, there are strong tools to be used by the skilled supply chain professional to track material throughout the process to make better strategic supply chain decisions.

Vendor Management: Through the difficult recession, the companies that survived were the ones who developed collaborative, flexible, mutually beneficial relationships with their vendors. Shared benefits equal shared profits! More companies are sharing information and resources to better manage cost savings, deliveries and planning. While price, delivery and quality remain critical, often the vendor who values your business the most may be the best choice.

Customer Delivery: Just as the Vendor relationship has become more collaborative, the customer relationship has become more customized. No longer a “one size fits all”, manufacturers understand that no one company can be all things to all people. Therefore, alignment with the customer becomes critical. Analysis of which internal systems, vendor programs, distribution channels, logistics and other supply chain decisions allow a company to best meet the needs of their TARGET customer audience becomes a priority. Proper alignment with the right customers ensures better customer satisfaction, quality, and better margins.

Summary: Supply Chain continues to be an exciting, dynamic and ever-changing field. We supply talent to clients in Aerospace, Automotive, Bio/Pharma/Med Device, Chemical and diversified Industrial Manufacturing clients. In recent months we have completed searches including:

Director of Supply Chain Systems Director of Global Supply Chain Supply Chain Managers l Commodity Managers Materials Managers
