Who are the National Apprenticeship Service?

The National Apprenticeship Service are the government department with the end to end responsibility for apprenticeships in England.

We are jointly funded by the Department of Education and the BIS, with an annual budget of £1.4 billion.

The National Apprenticeship Service focuses on increasing the number of apprentices in England. We work with employers to help them introduce apprentices into their businesses, help those looking to start their careers find an Apprenticeship opportunity and contribute towards the costs of the training and qualifications within an Apprenticeship.

We engage with a wide range of partners to help design the frameworks for apprentices and we implement all Government policies aimed at improving the quality and quantity of Apprenticeships.

Apprenticeship Vacancies

Apprenticeship Vacancies website can be adapted to meet the recruitment needs of the employer:

• General Vacancies – applicants complete the standard AV application form which is sent by email to the learning provider. The provider then forwards suitable applications to the employer and provides feedback to unsuccessful applicants. The employer has the facility to log onto the AV site to check the number of applications received by the provider and their progress.

• Multi-site Vacancies – employers wishing to advertise the same vacancy at multiple site only need to complete one advert. The postcode for each site is entered into the specifications and the vacancy will appear in searches conducted within those postcode areas.

• Click-through vacancies – employers can advertise on the AV website but request that applicants are redirected to their own recruitment website to apply. The employer than assumes responsibility for sifting, contact and feedback to applicants.
