A MESSAGE TO PHOENIX CLUB MEMBERS FROM THE PRESIDENT The Phoenix Club AURORALAND’S FINEST CLUB SINCE 1893 November 2018 SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS AND VETERANS auroraphoenixclub.com 125TH ANNIVERSARY Dear Members, Who’s ready to Gobble til you Wobble? The month of Turkey fun is here at the Phoenix Club! But before we get into what November holds in store…we need to give thanks early for all of our volunteers that really made October a true Oktoberfest month. From the first Bear’s Tailgate party of the season, to getting some items cleaned and fixed to a crafty day of good food, new members and lots of fun. The weather didn’t always play our game…but the members still made every one of our events memorable. So thank you all for volunteering your time and talents. Danke Schoen! A huge shout out goes to the Nominating Committee for doing a fantastic job searching out those members who are willing to step up and give their time and commit to being an Officer or being on the Board of Trustees. It’s not always an easy task to find those right individuals, so thank you. With that being said, the nominations are located on the board along with those individuals that are interested in being on the board and have 20 signatures of good standing members that are support- ing those nominees. Voting day is Wednesday, November 21 st . We look for- ward to seeing our members come out and vote for those nominees who they would like to see represent and keep moving the Phoenix Club forward in 2019 and beyond. I would also like to thank all of our Veterans for their service! Don’t forget about one of the biggest days of the year…it’s our Annual Turkey Raf- fle on Sunday, November 4 th . We are looking for some volunteers to help us through out the day. The sign up sheet is on the board. Reminder, this is an Adults Only event. Our Holiday Charity Wrap- ping Party takes place on Saturday, November 17 th followed by Outdoor Bowl- ing in the evening. We will be sure that the team is dressed for the weather. Our Holiday Kick Off Family Pizza Party happens on November 24 th . Those are just a few highlights for this month, you can see more inside this newsletter. Friendly reminder…We will be closed on Thanksgiving, but we hope you will have a TURKEYTASTIC Day and we Thank You for your membership and continued support! Don’t forget to give thanks to those around you. Heads up members…we know that NYE can sometimes be a last minute decision. Don’t let that be the case this year. Please be sure to make your reservations for our 1980s throwback New Year’s Eve Party. Tickets will be $30 per person and include Dinner, DJ, Midnight Toast, Games and Prizes.
