weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and other happy news such as birth-days, reunions, and four- or five-generation photos.
As a special way to pre-serve these memorable occasions, quarter-, half- or full-page announce-ments can be purchased.
Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page.
Photos may be submit-ted in color or black and white, and in any size.
Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality.
Celebration forms are available at the Tele-graph or Daily Gazette classified departments.
Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable infor-mation, and a reprinting of the announcement may not be possible based on available space. A local daytime phone number is required.
Weddings are avail-able in basic (free) form, quarter-page paid, half-page paid, and full-page paid.
The wedding form s h o u l d b e r e t u r n e d preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wed-ding date.
Engagements are avail-able in basic (free) form (one photo) and in two styles of quarter-page paid (one photo only).
Other paid sizes also are available on a custom basis.
Anniversary announce-ments with accompany-ing photos will be pub-
lished on a free or paid basis.
Announcements begin-ning with the 25th anni-versary, and then in 5-year increments up to 60 years, can be at no charge. Other incre-ments will require a paid announcement. Anni-versaries of 70 years and more are available at no charge.
After 60th-year anni-versaries, SVM will pub-lish free announcements, without special wording, without the 5-year incre-ment restriction.
Birthday announce-ments with accompa-nying photos for area seniors more than 80 years of age can be at no charge without special wording.
There is a charge for those younger than 80.
G e n e r a t i o n s a n d reunions are for area
residents who are gath-ering for a family or class reunion. Items will be edited due to space limi-tations, and lists of all attendees are not avail-able in the free format.
Photos also are not available for a free announcement, but can be used in any of the paid announcements.
Note: A group photo for a class reunion can be submitted at no charge for the Scrapbook page of SV Weekend by email to [email protected] or in person.
Class reunions of 70 years and more will be available in the quarter-page format at no charge, with a photo allowed.
Five-generation and four-generation photos with names and relation-ships of those pictured may be submitted for publication.
There is a form avail-able showing the infor-mation acceptable for the basic (free) form, which covers one photo.
Multiple photos from submitters will need to be on a paid basis.
Both reunions and gen-eration announcements are, of course, available on a paid (custom) basis in quarter-page, half-page, and full-page form.
Note: Large group pho-tos with long lists of names may require at least a half-page paid announcement.
O t h e r c e l e b r a t i o n s include retirements, pro-motions, awards, honors, baptisms, confirmations, baby’s arrival (able to contain more informa-tion than standard birth announcements, along with a photo), and other occasions, customers may purchase a quarter-
page (one photo – two if space allows), half-page, (up to two photos) or full-page (up to four photos) paid announcement in Celebrations on a custom basis.
Paid announcements can be proofread before publication.
