Swift Water & Flood Rescue Technician Level, NFPA Course Overview Meeting the NFPA 1670 & 1006 Stds. for Technical Rope Rescue “Technician Level”, this 3-Day course is suited for those seeking a more advanced understanding of Swiftwater Incident Management, Remote Area Rescue, Night Operations and Highline Technical Rope Rigging Skills. Having the Pre-requisite of Swiftwater and Flood Rescue-1 Operations, is mandatory before enrolling in this course. Day 1: 9am - 5pm Classroom & Outdoor Training Site: Advanced River Rescue Problems: “Lecture/ Videos, Flood Disaster Management, River Trip, Low head dam critique, Basic Swiftwater–1 skills review and rope systems, Rescuer Control Signals, River Rescue Safety Considerations. CertifiedTraining:NFPA&CSFM WehavebeentrainingprofessionalrescuersfromallovertheCaliforniaandtheWesternUnitedStatessince1997.Uponcompletion,studentswillreceivecertificationmeetingtheNationalFireProtectionAssociation1670&1006standardsforropeandwaterrescueguidelinesforthe“SwiftWaterandFloodRescue“TechnicianLevel”certificate.Additionally,studentswhohavecompletedtheOperationalcoursewillreceivetheCaliforniaStateFireMarshal’sOfficeFSTEP“RiverandFloodWaterRescueOperational”certificate.Courseistaughtbyacertified,NFPAandStateFireTrainingOfficer.ThiscourseexceedsqualificationstomeetFederal,StateandLocal-governmentFire/Police/USARTeamstandardsforurbanandremote-areatechnicalroperescue.
