MONTEM Leisure Centre Teaching Pool / Baby Pool (BP)

Session DescriptionGeneral Swim - Open session for all users

Lane Swimming - Up to four lanes available for those wishing to swim in lanes.

Swimskool - Pool closed for all those who have swimming lessons. Lessons are for all ages and abilities.

Adult Fitness - Adults aged 17 and over for lane swimming only. No Under 17’s free swimming cards accepted

Dolphins - Dolphins Swimming Club. Open for club members only.

Private Hire - Closed to public.

Ladies Only - Session for ladies only. Montem’s Tuesday evening is open to 14yrs and over only. Wednesdaymorning is open to toddlers up to 4yrs old, accompanied on a 1:1 ratio. Friday evenings, all children (girls only)to be accompanied on a 1:1 ratio. Please note that no 16 and under free swimming cards will be accepted onFriday evenings. Ladies only sessions at Langley are open to those aged 14yrs plus

Scuba - Scuba Club only.

Inflatable Fun Sessions - Participants must be able to swim at least 25 metres. There is a £2 charge perperson for this session. You will be issued with a band.

Family Fun & Floats - The flume will operate during these sessions subject to adequate staffing levelsand customer numbers.

Parent and Toddler sessions (Langley) – One adult can accompany two under-8s to this sessions.Please note this is the only exception to our admissions policy (see below).Splash and Fun - These sessions are aimed at under 8’s.

Aqua Aerobics - A water-based aerobics class for ages 16yrs and over. Places must be booked atreception.

General InformationFree Swimming - Open to those with free swim cards. All card holders can attend the appropriate sessionsmarked FS on the timetable. If cards are not shown you may be charged. Cards can be applied for atreception at a charge of £2.00. During busy free swimming sessions, a band system may be introducedto limit the number of users in the pool. As of 1st September the Two-year Free Swimming Initiative will havecome to an end, and so all sessions marked with “FS” will be chargeable.

Admissions Policy - This applies to all sessions. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian over the age of 16 years on a one to one basis. All children aged 4-7 years must be accompanied ona two to one basis. The adult/guardian accompanying children MUST remain with the children at all times.Anyone with Impetigo must not use the pool.

Equipment - Swimming aids can be purchased at Reception. Equipment can no longer be loaned out tocustomers on poolside. Snorkels and masks are not allowed. Training fins can be worn during Adult Fitnesssessions.

Poolside - The use of cameras is permitted only with the prior consent of the Duty Manager. Photographicequipment must not be used on the poolside. Outdoor shoes and push chairs are not permitted on poolsideat any time.

Changing Village at Montem Leisure Centre - Shoes are not permitted in the changing village, howeverblue over shoes are available at reception and in the vanity area of the changing rooms.

Staff Training - Part of the pool will be closed at times to enable our lifeguards to train. Notice will be givenprior to this at Reception. 2 Lanes will be closed on Sunday evenings once a month at Langley Leisure Centre.Clothing - Only swim wear to be worn in the pool. During some ladies only sessions extra clothing will beallowed but it should be tight fitting. Pool staff and management will outline any issues concerning atire asand when required.

Lifeguards - Lifeguards are on poolside to ensure your safety and enjoyment, please listen to their adviceand follow all instructions that are given throughout the duration of your visit. If you have a known medicalcondition that may affect you during your visit, please bring it to the attention of the lifeguard prior toparticipation. Any customer not adhering to our pool rules and procedures will be asked to leave the Pool.School Hire - School hire is on during term time only. General swim will replace school hire in schoolholidays. Some school hire times may vary between school terms.

Programme - Slough Community Leisure reserves the right to change the programme without prior notice;this will be in exceptional circumstances only. This programme was correct at the time of going to print.

A recent international survey* showed nearly six in ten children (58%) know how to play a computer game but only two in ten know how to swim (20%)!

Montem and Langley Leisure Centre have a great range of Swimskool Courses for all ages.

Currently we have places available on the following courses…

Parent & Baby Courses. For babies 3 months upwards accompanied by the parent in the water.

Toddlers 1-3yrs – Accompanied by a parent in the pool.

Toddlers 3-5yrs – For children in group lesson (no parents in the pool)

Children 5+ – Classes for all abilities!

Ladies only swimming lessons (in a secluded area)

Adult Swimming Lessons for all abilities
