Hedkandi Salon wanted a funky new interior space for their salon located in Calgary. With a limited budget, a smaller space, and vibrant ideas, Hedkandi wanted to work with a company that would understand their goals, their industry, and their trendsetting clientele.

THE SYNERGY DIFFERENCESynergy didn’t let size or budget impact the importance of this project. Hairstylists are very creative professionals, and Synergy understood the importance of utilizing their ideas and maximizing their budget to produce a stylish and profitable space. Synergy created an interior setting harmonious with the image Hedkandi Salon wanted to portray to their clientele.

The Project: St. Germain Plaza, Morinville | Size: 19,500 sq. ft.

This building serves as the town office and public library for the historic Town of Morinville. Constructed in 1978 and renovated in 1992 to accommodate the Town’s growth, the building was again past its capacity in 2011. The structure required extensive renovations, a well-designed expansion, and a complete modernization.

THE SYNERGY DIFFERENCEThe Synergy Special Projects team was hired to provide construction management services and assist the client and design team during the programming and design phases. Synergy took a proactive approach to minimize overruns due to programming additions and scope changes. This major renovation included complete replacement of all mechanical and electrical systems, and the entire building envelope. The project was a success and the client maintains a trusted relationship with Synergy.

The Project: Avison Young | Size: 20,000 sq. ft.

Avison Young required a complete floor renovation to dramatically modernize their Bell Tower office space. The project needed to be delivered within a highly compressed schedule, and building in a class A tower required a team with a high level of coordination to respect strict restrictions on elevator use and noise.

THE SYNERGY DIFFERENCEBefore drawings were complete, Synergy’s experienced project team planned out how the work would be sequenced, and then began the renovations. To avoid lost time, Synergy’s project manager strategically ordered items he knew would take a long time to manufacture. Strategic coordination of the subtrades and daily work, plus the team’s experience working in restrictive operating environments were crucial in avoiding disruption to the other tenants.

Open and transparent communication and collaboration between Synergy, the designer, and Avison Young resulted in a project that is now one of the most modern office spaces in Edmonton. The client was very pleased with the results and continues to refer Synergy Special Projects to their clients.

The goal of Melcor Developments was to increase the leasing activity in this building and attract new tenants by changing the look of the building. Scope of work included renovations and modifications to the exterior and interior of the existing building. Changes included complete replacement of the glazing, a new canopy, a new vertical feature, an upgrade of the retail signage and retail facade, and new sidewalks.

THE SYNERGY DIFFERENCEBased on experience, the Synergy Special Projects team helped with consultant selection and provided valuable support during the pre-construction and design phase, resulting in significant cost savings for the client.
