So you’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most fabulous Easter costume and have been told to play your role. So now what?

The mystery is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed an envelope that contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The clues for all of the required characters provide everything that you need to solve the mystery. However, during the investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close attention to everyone’s clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened.

GAME ☺ . From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are playing a ‘green alien from Mars’, then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly, your host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There are some characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that should be played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable. Embellish your character’s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling more reserved tonight, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply listen in on others’ conversations to get your information.

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME TASKS: The following tasks are completely optional and exclusion of them does not alter the mystery in any way. However, it does lead to pre-game build up and excitement! Be sure to fill in your guests’ preferred contact information on the task slips so they will be able to contact each other. The usual method of contact is via email.

Say that their bickering bothers everyone and you’d like a peaceful Easter party this time! (Contact info :________________________________________________________________) Contact the guest playing Billie Bonka and tell him/her to not bother creating a chocolate prize bunny for the Annual Wabbit Easter Egg Hunt because you already picked one up at the store. (Contact info :________________________________________________________________) Please note: either contacting the guests above or deciding to skip these tasks will not alter the mystery or anyone's ability to solve the mystery in anyway. However, contacting other guests will lead to excitement about the party and will encourage other guests to read about the other characters and be prepared for some completely mysterious fun!

COCKTAIL HOUR CLUES – CUT OUT, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES AND LABEL WITH THE APPROPRIATE ROUND AND CHARACTER

MRS. BRARE WABBIT– ROUND ONE USE THE FOLLOWING EASTER TRIVIA QUESTIONS AS AN ICE BREAKER

Question: What are the candy Pop Rocks made out of? Answer: a melted sugar mix and carbon dioxide gas (like in soda pop!) Question: How did they change the Mr. Goodbar candy bar in 1992? Answer: they added more peanuts!

CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose: • Remember that you’re the prim and proper flower gardener and mother of two children. You are slightly

mysterious and a welcoming hostess - make sure everyone has what they need and that everyone gets along!

• Talk to a few people about your husband’s narcolepsy. Say that he worries you sometimes because he falls asleep at the most odd locations and times!

• Talk about how you have an appointment to go to a hypnotist to cure your chocolate addiction. Say that it is just not healthy for you to eat as much chocolate as you do!

• Talk about how you believe your neighbors are taking the flowers from your flower gardens! • Ask Granny Green to not try and get Uncle Sherlock back for putting iced tea in her shoes last Easter. Say that

enough is enough and sibling rivalry should end when you become adults! PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL

• You are so addicted to chocolate; if you see it…all you can think about is eating it! You had to re-purchase the prize chocolate bunny for the Annual Wabbit Easter Egg Hunt seven times! You kept eating it!

• You don’t really care for Billie Bonka’s chocolate. You think it is too gourmet tasting - you prefer the commercial processed type of chocolate.

During the mystery, your character must be honest and not make up any potentially mystery-altering clues in addition to those provided to you. You do not, however, have to share the clues that you collect with other guests.

ROUND TWO - DINNER HOUR DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST: This is the time to serve dinner (dinner is optional). Without being noticed, snap off the ears of the chocolate bunny in the kitchen (or on an out of the way table in the party area if this is not in a home) and hand to the character playing Billie Bonka when nobody is looking (Billie Bonka is the one who discovers the missing ears in the story line).

Pass out the envelopes for round two to the guests. Give them a minute to read their clue cards and then pass out the Mystery Investigation Sheets and tell the guests to mingle around with the other guests and

ROUND TWO CLUES – CUT OUT, STUFF INTO LABELED ENVELOPES WITH THE APPROPRIATE CHARACTER AND ROUND. TO BEGIN ROUND TWO, PASS OUT THESE ENVELOPES TO THE GUESTS.

MRS. BRARE WABBIT - ROUND TWO OH NO! THE CHOCOLATE PRIZE BUNNY’S EARS ARE MISSING!

*Make the announcement to the group that the best way to handle this is to figure out whodunit immediately because you need to start the Annual Wabbit Easter Egg Hunt on time! Tell everyone to

start investigating the chocolate-y crime and figure out who the chocolate bunny vandal is - and quick!

CLUES to reveal & tasks to perform: Confront any kids at the party. They should be the first suspects on the list as they have the least self control

when it comes to Easter candy. See if any of them had strong motive to steal the chocolate ears and / or if they were around the kitchen lately.

Your husband looked pretty drowsy earlier and now he looks pretty chipper. Interesting! Grandpa Green seems to have stopped complaining about his hunger! Maybe it’s just the excitement of the

investigation that has made him suddenly forget about it. You used all of the vinegar that you had when you dyed Easter eggs with the kids earlier.

evidence:

You left the party room about 12 minutes before the chocolate Easter bunny was discovered as ‘vandalized.’ You went to the restroom and you passed Auntie Fox in the hallway - she must have just left the restroom.

You did stop by the kitchen for a snack and you did see the chocolate bunny and his ears looked just fine to you. You had thoughts of eating it.

You know that Farmer Green hasn’t been in the party room the entire party. Your fingerprints will obviously be on the chocolate bunny because you are the one who removed it from the box and put it on

display. The guilty party’s fingerprints would also be on the chocolate for certain if they removed the ears from the bunny! And, nobody

was wearing gloves…not in April! You might be a serious suspect if your prints are the only ones on the chocolate!

SOLUTION ROUND - CUT OUT THE SOLUTION CARDS, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES THAT ARE LABELED WITH THE APPROPRIATE ROUND AND CHARACTER. PASS OUT THE ENVELOPES TO THE GUESTS

TO COMMENCE THE FINAL ROUND.

MRS. BRARE WABBIT– FINAL SOLUTION ROUND THREE – READ FIRST This is the final solution round. Every guest at this party will now tell their story to the group - in a specific order dictated by

this final solution clue card - and the criminal will now confess.

Say the following to the group: “I ADMIT IT! I am a chocoholic! I can’t say no to chocolate. If it’s around me, all I can do is think about how quickly I want

to eat it! But I have an appointment with a hypnotist and I have plans on overcoming this problem! This year, I have eaten the chocolate bunny prizes…over and over - but I would never have just eaten the ears off of the bunny! I’d have

eaten the whole thing in about 3 minutes! That should have been your first clue that it couldn’t have been me! Billie Bonka, I’m so sorry. The reason I didn’t want you to make the chocolate prize bunny is because I needed an excuse

to purchase chocolate bunnies before Easter - it really has nothing to do with the fact that I don’t really care for your gourmet chocolate. The mass-produced hollow chocolate bunnies are my favorite! They’re so much better than candy bars. But my family would never have allowed me to buy and eat them before Easter! So, I used it as an excuse. With that said…I hereby grant you the right to make the prize bunnies from this time forward! And for goodness’ sake - don’t

deliver the chocolate prize bunny over here before the party!” MR. PETER WABBIT IS NEXT TO READ HIS SOLUTION TO THE GROUP
