PROWITAL – Implantology getting to the point

In the past few years implantology has become a proven therapeutic concept for patients suffering from partial or total loss of teeth. However, implant systems often are very complex and therefore somewhat confusing making treatment unnecessarily complicated. The prowital Implant System has been developed for easier handling, more clarity thanks to a well-organized product range, and greater economic efficiency. In addition to economic aspects, implant esthetics has also been improved. The combination with the most up-to-date digital technology has been in the focus of the prowital Implant System development from the start. It had a dominant influence on the development of the software tool AbutmentDesigners™ and the synergy effect with CAD/CAM systems offering virtual construction capability and the fabrication of customized zirconia abutments. With its optimum abutment design, the prowital Implant System sets the standard in implantology.

The OsseoAttract surfaceThe prowital-Implants have an acidetched surface promoting rapid osseointegration. The micro roughness of the implant surface extends to the implant platform.

Implant diameters and implant lengthsThe prowital-System offers three implant diameters: 3.5 mm, 4.3 mm and 5.0 mm, and four implant lengths: 7.5 mm (only for Ø 4,3 mm and 5,0 mm), 9 mm, 11 mm, 13 mm and 15 mm.

Indicationsprowital-Implants can be used for immediate and delayed implantation. The implant diameter and length have to be selected according to the existing bone conditions. Implantation may be single-stage with transgingival healing or two-stage with submerged healing. Immediate loading possible depending on the indication and the clinician’s judgment.

Surgical DrillsThe prowital-System is offered exclusively with single patient drills. The drills are sterilised by gamma irradiation. Thus, time-consuming reprocessing and documentation are not required. The drills have a very high cutting efficiency.

Internal geometryAll prowital-Implants have the same internal geometry which offers the chance of “platform switching”. Various prosthetic components are available for all indications.

Information6

Implant drivers, screw driversAll implant drivers and screw drivers have an ISO-shaft and can be used for manual or motor-driven insertion. The components are placed with the manual torque wrench adapter and tightened with defined torque.

Healing capsThe healing caps are offered in two different geometries (cylindrical, wide) for the single-stage or two-stage procedure depending on the indication.

Impression copingsThe system includes two types of impression copings (opentray, closed-tray). For divergent implant axes or functional impression taking we recommend the open-tray method of impression taking.

Screwing conceptionAll abutments are always delivered with two screws; a shorter one (dark color), the lab screw, and a longer one, the fixing screw, which will be used for final tightening of the abutment in the patient’s mouth.

HIBC-Bar codeAll our packages have an HIBC bar code (HIBC = Health Industry Bar Code). This bar code is a worldwide standard, offering many advantages.

It is a second-generation bar code, the so-called matrix code, which is able to store considerably more data on smaller space than a conventional bar code.

The code starts with the manufacturer identification number assigned exclusively to every registered manufacturer worldwide. With all other data included in the code (such as product number, batch and/or LOT number, component number in the batch, expiry date, etc.) the product can be easily traced back all the way to the end user, as required by the legislator already today.

How can you benefit?All you need to fully benefit from an effective and reliable documen-tation system is a bar code scanner (see page 50). To document the materials used and trace our products back to the patient, as required by law, you can use the bar codes on our packages and the stickers enclosed with the implants.

Unless it is already available, the suppliers of practice, accounting and documentation software will, one after the other, offer an interface for a bar code scanner in the future. During or immediately after the surgery the codes of all materials used are scanned in and then trans-ferred to the patient file by the respective software. The burdensome manual data entry or gluing of stickers in the patient file will no longer be necessary, and potential writing or copying errors will be avoided.

Such data can also be used for the electronic stockkeeping of merchandise information systems. You simply scan in the materials added to the inventory and those removed from it, i.e. used for the surgery. As soon as the quantity of a given material falls short of, or has arrived at, the minimum you have defined, your practice software can produce an order notice or even issue a complete order fax containing all necessary product reference numbers, or send an automated order by e-mail.

At present we are the first and only manufacturer in implant dentistry supplying the matrix code for each product in the catalogue so that you can make out your own purchase order in the computer fast and errorfree. With our order forms that you can order from us or load down from our homepage (http://www.prowital.de/service/ download-center/bestellformulare/) we are ourselves making use of the bar code in our order booking department. Because this also helps us avoid mistakes when entering your order in our computer system.
