BOARD DIRECTION (October 11, 2011 Regular BCC Meeting)
• Declare that there is a zoning change in progress relating to internet cafés and centers and
• Authorize the County Attorney to advertise for an adoption hearing before the end of the calendar year for a moratorium ordinance establishing a six month moratorium on the processing of applications on the internet café/center use.

Duration (Sec. 7(b)): 180 days or until adoption of zoning regulations, whichever comes first

RECOMMENDATION• Conduct 2 public hearings;• Hear testimony of all interested citizens;• -Following 2nd Public Hearing-
• Find that it is essential to protect and preserve the public health, safety and welfare and that it is in the County’s best interest to adopt a temporary moratorium ordinance for simulated gambling establishments; and
• Adopt Ordinance 11-XX
