    I am a me m b er of the 9/11 Commissionstaff. We met brief ly outsideof theCommission 'soffice a couple weeks ago. I am serving on the t eam examiningth e IntelligenceCommuni ty. The team is led by Kevin Scheid.

    Phi l ipZelikow suggested thatw e write to you forsome urgent advice. The IntelligenceComm uni ty teamis the first team to present a workplan to the Commissioners - and our br ie f ingis scheduled fo r th i s Thursday. W e have developed a draft workplan , a list of documents torequest from th e Executive Branch,and a l ist of potent ial individualsto interview.

    W e have also drafted a bib l iographyfor the Commissioners concerning th e Intel l igenceC o m m u n i t y. However, th e Commissioners of course have only l im ited t ime,and therefore w eneed to recommend to the Commissioners the best 5 to 10 sources fo r them to read. Kevin and Iwould be grateful if you wo uld take a look at the attached b iblio grap hy and let usknow whichsources - ei ther from our list or otherwise - are of particular importanceand trustworthinessandthus merit th e Commissioners ' a t tent ion.
