1 President’s Message 院長的話

Focus on internationalization and research Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) has always focused on “Internationalisation”. It has collaborations with organisations worldwide including United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Being the chairperson of Asian Academy for Heritage Management (AAHM), IFT has the responsibility to promote the activities of the organisation in order to enhance heritage conservation and management in the Asia Pacific region. Furthermore, IFT is a member of United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s (UNWTO) Knowledge Network which is formed by members who are granted TedQual Certification by UNWTO. By working with these organsations, IFT has the advantage of getting the latest information and trend of tourism development and education for continuous improvement and enhancement of the Institute. IFT has been spending great efforts in research. Our Heritage Research Center and International Tourism Research Center have collaborations with different government departments and organisations. Our academic staff are actively engaged in research and have books and research papers published internationally. IFT organises conferences, seminars and workshops from time to time, including “the 3rd International Conference on Destination Branding and Marketing” and “PATA Travel Mart 2010 Human Resources Seminar” last year. By organising these academic activities, IFT can gather professional opinions and suggestions from various countries and expand our network at the same time.

重科研拓國際網絡

國際化是旅遊學院的一大特點,學院與

不少國際機構合作,包括聯合國教科文組

織,旅遊學院更是該組織推動成立的亞洲文

化遺產管理學會主席,學院可主導參與及推

動活動,提升亞太區文化遺產保護及管理水

平。旅遊學院亦是世界旅遊組織知識網絡的

成員,該網絡成員主要是獲得世旅組織頒發

了旅遊教育質素認證的機構。與這些機構的

合作和聯繫,有利學院掌握國際旅遊教育發

展及相關活動的最新資訊,以及提升學院的

質素。

旅遊學院一直很重視科研工作,學院設

有“文化遺產研究中心”及“國際旅遊研究中

心”,配合特區政府的施政需要開展研究項

目,如“澳門旅遊業的發展及承載能力的政策

研究調查”等項目,向政府提供意見,協助政

府訂定施政方針。此外,學院的教學團隊積

極參與科研工作,在很多國際會議上發表論

文及研究調查結果,學院亦持續舉行各類學

術會議,包括去年與其他地方的院校及國際

組織舉辦“第三屆旅遊目的地品牌及市場發

展國際會議”、“亞太旅遊協會人力資源研討

會”等,除了可吸收不同國家及地區的專家意

見外,亦可以在不同層次擴大旅遊學院的國

際網絡。

Outstanding academic staff IFT has an outstanding academic team. Through open recruitment and demanding selection criteria, the current academic team comes from 13 different countries and areas including Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, USA etc. This international faculty and our outstanding local members make a great academic team at IFT.

嚴格選拔高質教師

旅遊學院亦建立了一支具質素的國際

化教師隊伍,學院透過公開招聘,經過嚴格

的選拔,於奧地利、孟加拉、比利時、加拿

大、德國、香港特別行政區、日本、菲律賓、

波蘭、葡萄牙、新加坡、泰國、美國等十三

個國家及地區聘請了一批具有高學歷和高質

素的教師,加上本地的優秀教師,保證了學

院的教育質素。

Enriching learning experience IFT’s international network keeps expanding. A number of protocols were signed last year with several universities and institutes abroad. This creates a wider range of opportunities for students to learn about and be exposed to different cultures. With the support of generous community figures and corporations, numerous scholarships are established to support students’ overseas learning experience which includes exchange programmes, internship and summer programmes. IFT is widely connected to over 30 universities and institutions overseas at which students can further their studies after graduation. Last year, IFT teamed up with University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and brought to Macao the UNLV’s Master of Hotel Administration. UNLV offers scholarship for local students while several others are subsidized by their own companies to study in this programme. Other than pedagogic programmes, various kinds of extra-curriculum activities are also available to enrich students’ campus life and unleash their potential in a diverse environment.

多元化促全人發展

旅遊學院不斷擴大其國際網絡,去年與

多所外地院校簽署了合作協議,學院的國際

網絡擴大,學生出外交流學習的機會亦相應

增加。

感謝業界及社會對學院的工作的支

持,在多位知名人士及企業的贊助下,設立

了多項獎學金獎勵學生及資助學生到海外學

習,當中包括交換生計劃、工作實習及暑期

交流活動。此外,學院與海外近三十所高等

院校擁有緊密聯系。學生可於畢業後到此網

絡之大學或學院繼續升學。去年,學院更引

進美國內華達拉斯維加斯大學的酒店管理行

政碩士學位課程。 內華達拉斯維加斯大學為

本地學生設有獎學金,本地業界亦有提供資

助給他們的員工,以培養本地人才。

學生在學院就讀期間除了吸收學術知

識之外,學院亦舉辦許多不同類型的課外活

動,培養學生多方面的興趣,豐富他們的學

習生活,協助他們的全人發展。

Development of new programmes Responding to the human resources demand in Macau, IFT has established the evening bachelor degree programmes for working professionals. Good initial response has been received and continuous monitoring and improvement is carried out to guarantee programme quality. Besides, IFT is offering a new bachelor degree programme in Culinary Arts Management in the academic year 2011/12. The career choice of graduates from this programme is diverse. In addition to being chefs, they can be F&B managers and supervisors, instructors in culinary schools, consultants for restaurants, food critics and writers, etc. In the past year, 11 hotels and restaurants collaborated with IFT to launch the Western Culinary Arts Practicum Programme that aims to attract new entrants to the culinary profession.

開辦新課程回應社會需求

為了回應澳門旅遊業發展需要,旅遊學

院增設了夜間學士學位課程,報名情況很理

想,首批學生的學習情況順利,學院亦定期

了解學生的學習情況,保證課程質素。

此外,旅遊學院亦將開辦 2011/2012

年度廚藝管理學士學位課程。學生畢業後除

了可以當廚師外,還可以擔任餐廳經理或主

管,為餐廳擔任顧問或負責設計新菜單,甚

至可以擔任食評作家。

去年有十一家酒店及餐廳與旅遊學院

合作西餐廚藝見習課程,希望可以吸引更多

人進入廚藝界發展。

2 General Information 簡介 Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) is a public institution of higher education that falls under the governance of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, People’s Republic of China. It is the first tourism education institution certified by the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s Themis TedQual (Tourism Education Quality) system.

旅遊學院是一所隸屬於澳門特別行政

區政府社會文化司的公立高等教育機構,是

首間獲聯合國世界旅遊組織頒發「旅遊教育

質素認證」的教育機構。

IFT offers degree and professional programmes in a wide range of tourism-related disciplines such as hospitality, tourism business, heritage, events, retail and marketing, leisure and entertainment, sports and recreation, creative and cultural studies, and culinary arts. IFT also delivers various programmes at the executive and postgraduate levels in partnership with leading tourism schools in the world. The Institute is entrusted by the local authorities to conduct policy level research related to tourism planning and development.

學院提供一系列旅遊範疇的學位課程

和專業培訓,包括酒店、旅遊、文化遺產、

會展、零售及市場推廣、休閑娛樂、康體活

動、文化創意及廚藝等。此外,學院亦與國

際知名院校合作開辦高級管理課程及碩士課

程。在調研方面,學院受特區政府及其他機

構委託作旅遊規劃及發展的政策研究。

The mission of IFT is to become an international tertiary institution of choice for tourism and service industry studies. Not only for the benefits of Macao, but also for the Asia Pacific region, it will equip students with professional knowledge and technical competence in preparation for their future leadership responsibilities in the industry. In order to fulfil the above mission, the Institute has the following three characteristics:

學院使命是成為提供國際化旅遊及服

務業課程的首選高等教育機構,不僅為澳

門,更為亞太區域,培養具有專業知識和技

能的學生,在業界擔任領導角色。為了實踐

使命,學院擁有以下三個特性:

1. Unique Identity – The Institute operates independently, specialising in providing higher education and vocational training in tourism and hospitality management.

2. Integration – It blends the best approaches of academic development and professional training.

3. Internationalisation – It seeks mutually beneficial cooperation with similar institutions abroad, actively promoting international learning experience among faculty and students.

In 1997, the Network of Asia-Pacific Education and Training Institutes in Tourism (APETIT), a body fully supported by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) selected IFT as the “training the trainer centre” offering training and advisory services for APETIT members in the Asia Pacific region. In the same year, IFT received from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) the Gold Award in “Education and Training”, which acknowledged the content and the quality of IFT’s programmes. In 2002, IFT was presented, again, with the same award for having set up the “Macao Occupational skills Recognition System” (MORS) for the local tourism and service industry, in collaboration with the European Union (EU).

In 1999, in cooperation with EU, the Macao-Europe Centre for Advanced Tourism Studies (ME-CATS) was established in the Institute, incorporating new European concepts of tourism and service industry management into the tourism development of the Asia Pacific region. This centre aims at becoming a base for education and training in the Asia Pacific region. It promotes exchange of knowledge and experience between institutes of higher education in Europe and in the region.

1999 年,學院與歐盟合作,於學院成

立「澳門 - 歐洲旅遊高等研究中心」

(ME-CATS),把歐洲旅遊及服務業管理的新

概念融匯到亞太地區的旅遊發展。中心旨在

成為亞太區域的教育及培訓基地,推動歐洲

學府與本地區院校的知識及經驗交流。

In 2000, IFT became the first educational institution to be granted the TedQual Certification by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). This confirmed the international standard and quality achieved by IFT in education and training.

2000 年,旅遊學院成為首間獲聯合國

世界旅遊組織 「旅遊教育質素認證」的教育

機構,確認了學院的教育及培訓質量符合國

際水準。

In 2003, IFT was invited by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) to be the founding member of the Asian Academy for Heritage Management (AAHM). This consortium networks institutes of higher learning throughout the Asia-Pacific region that are engaged in the research and teaching of heritage conservation and cultural institution management.

In 2004, The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS) appointed the Institute as Asia Pacific Board Member. It helps to develop transnational educational initiatives in tourism and leisure of Macao, encourage exchanges between lecturers and students in academic researches, and enhance quality of the programmes provided by the Institute.

2004 年,學院被選為「旅遊及休閒教

育協會」(ATLAS)的亞太地區理事會成員,

促進了澳門國際旅遊教育及休閒教育的發

展、師生交流、學術研究及提升課程的專業

性。

“The 2008 Award Ceremony of Medals and Titles of Honour of the Macao SAR Government, People’s Republic of China” was held on 16 January 2009. Forty individuals and organisations were accorded honours and awards for their personal achievements, notable contributions to Macao SAR and their dedicated public and community service. The Institute for Tourism Studies was awarded the Medal of Merit for Tourism in recognition of its significant contributions in advancing local tourism development.

IFT offers the above two-year Diploma Programmes and four-year Bachelor Degree Programmes. Medium of instruction for daytime programmes is English while that for evening programmes is Chinese.

旅遊學院提供二年制文憑課程及四年

制學士學位課程。日間課程授課語言為英

語,而夜間課程授課語言為中文。

Full-time students of Diploma Programmes must complete the registered programmes within three consecutive years (four years for part-time study) while full-time students of Bachelor Degree Programmes must complete the registered programmes within six years (eight years for part-time study). Graduates of Diploma Programmes could apply for admission to evening Bachelor Degree Programmes. In any academic year, a full-time student must register for a two-semester programme of study of which class attendance is compulsory.

3.5 Honour List 校長榮譽榜 The objectives are to: a) recognise excellence in academic achievement

3.6 Graduation degree and honour 畢業學位及畢業榮譽

Graduation degree 畢業學位

A student is awarded a bachelor degree provided that s/he has: a) undertaken a programme of study normally for a period of

not less than four academic years; b) completed the mandated internship and the practicum

according to the study plan; c) obtained the total credit units by attending the courses as

stipulated in the regulations for the programme; d) passed the prescribed examinations; e) paid the prescribed fees; and f) abided by the College’s regulations.

學士學位:

1. 課程修讀期四年;

2. 根據課程設置完成有關實踐課及實

習;

3. 取得學士學位課程設置之總學分;

4. 通過所有科目考試;

3.8 Dress code 衣著守則 Students on campus are not permitted to wear: a) hair colourings of non-natural colours; b) hair styles (unruly or long hair) which are not

permissible in Theory and Practice courses; c) excessive jewellery (large and multiple rings,

multiple bangles, multiple necklaces or chains) or trinkets;

d) tattoos; e) singlet; f) jewellery of body piercing nature (other than a

single pair of simple earrings or ear-studs for ladies);

g) coloured contact lenses or sunglasses ; h) long fingernails, or have their fingernails and

toenails painted with bright colours or decorated with decals or glitter;

i) cut-off or ripped jeans; j) revealing or obscene clothing; k) flip-flops, slippers or be barefoot; l) attire which have objectionable illustrations or

slogans; m) sleeveless T-shirts; n) dirty or threadbare or frayed or unpressed clothing; o) tracksuits or overalls; and p) hats or caps or headgear.

學生於校內上課不允許作以下裝扮:

3.9 Professional Conduct Scheme 專業操守評分 Professional Conduct Scheme (PCS) is a system that is used to reflect a student’s performance on standards related to professional and personal conduct. This scheme was introduced in academic year 2002/03 and has been applied to all incoming students since then. In 2007/08, a new grading system has come into place. Althought the grading system for other courses applies to PCS, PCS grade will not affect GPA calculation.

專業操守評核(PCS)是一個用來反映

學生於專業及個人品德的評分方式。PCS 自

2002/03 學年開始推行,適用於所有旅遊高

等學校學生。而於 2007/08 學年採用了一個

全新的評分制度。雖然 PCS 評分制度與其

3.10 Work Experience Programmes 工作體驗計劃

The tourism and hospitality industries require their practitioners not only to know how to manage tourism and hospitality businesses but also to be highly hands-on and proficient in the practical aspects of the industry. In order to better prepare aspiring tourism and hospitality professionals for the challenges of industry, IFT provides opportunities for its students to obtain hands-on industry experience on and off campus throughout the course of their studies. With the philosophy that practice illuminates theory, IFT courses reflect a complimentary balance of practical and theoretical aspects.

旅遊酒店業不但要求從業員具備管理

知識,亦要求他們具備行業實務經驗及專業

To enrich the cultural experience of our students, IFT started receiving exchange students in academic year 1996/97. Up to 2016/17 semester 1, 682 incoming exchange students were received.

為豐富在校學生接觸異地文化的機會,早自 1996/97

學年開始,學院已接收來自世界各地之交換生;截至 2016/17

第一學期,人數達 682 人。

4.1 Introduction 簡介 Tourism and Hotel School is one of the main pillars of the Institute for Tourism Studies enabling a continuous link with the industry and the local community.

旅業及酒店業學校是旅遊學院其中一

個學術單位,使命是緊密配合社會需求,提

供不同種類課程予在職或有志投身旅遊及酒

店業人士進修報讀。

THS offers training in the following specific areas: Travel, Hospitality and Catering, Management, Customer Service Development, Languages and Communication, Tailor-made Programmes, Tourism Techniques Course and Tourism Programmes for Secondary Schools.

旅業及酒店業學校提供以下範疇之培

訓﹕旅遊、酒店及飲食、管理、顧客服務、

Besides the programmes described here, THS also carries out special projects aiming to raise awareness in the local society of the importance of tourism and its sustainability for the future development of Macao.

6.1 Introduction 簡介

Recent times saw Macao open up its 40-year long monopolised gaming sector to attract foreign investors who are expected to redefine the gaming industry and expand the tourism market base. This speaks volumes for the increasing importance of the tourism industry in Macao and the determination of the government to develop this strategic sector. Being a public institution in Macao offering tertiary education programmes in tourism and hospitality, the Institute is committed to developing a pool of high caliber professionals to answer to the growing demands of the industry. To achieve this, the Institute recognises the need to establish a sound research base because strong research is the key to the enhancement and updating of knowledge that is central to human resource development.

6.2 Residential Research Grants for Overseas Scholars 海內外學者來澳研究津貼

The aim of this IFT initiative is to bring in talents from all around the world to help build up a strong research base at IFT. The Institute will provide not only monetary support for sound research plans but also an exciting exchange opportunity for overseas scholar to experience tourism development in the heart of Asia and witness the swift current of changes that have yet to take place in the west of the Pearl River Delta. 6.3 International Tourism Research Centre 國際旅遊研究中心

The International Tourism Research Centre is a research and development unit of IFT. It serves as a management and policy think tank for the general public and as a knowledge provider for the tourism and hospitality related research in Macao and the region. Through the support of IFT and Macao SAR Government, the Centre fulfills its mission by undertaking three broad areas of activities: 1. Identifying and deploying resources in support of

research projects crticial to the Centre’s mission. 2. Fomenting and conducting

theoretical as well as applied research studies firmly guided by and grounded on practical relevance.

3. Promoting and communicating effective tourism planning, development and management practices as well as strategies based on and informed by sound and well researched theories and practices.

6.4 Heritage Studies Centre 文化遺產研究中心 The mission is to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of heritage by working with intergovernmental agencies, academics and professionals. Its objectives are: 1. To develop research and training programmes to

promote heritage studies in IFT and Macao. 2. To coordinate development and delivery of

heritage related programmes in IFT. 3. To explore and forge partnership and exchange

with academics, professionals and organisations from the fields related to cultural heritage management.

4. To coordinate, develop and deliver local, regional or international training programmes in partnership with local, regional or international partners, including but not limited to UNESCAP and UNESCO, on heritage related subjects.

7 Training units 實習單位

7.1 Eduational Hotel (Pousada de Mong-Há) 教學酒店 (望廈迎賓館) With the enchantment of an ancient, bygone world, the cannons and embattlements of the eminent XIX Century Fortress at the top of Mong-Há hill never did get to serve their purpose and were later to be abandoned, to be hidden by an assault of looming trees and heavy shrubbery. It so remained for probably half a century until in the early 1970's a young Portuguese Officer was to challenge this silence when, appalled at the living conditions of sergeants at their living quarters at Calcada de Santo Agostinho at Macao's popular Praia Grande seafront, he proposed to build a new military barracks for them at the Mong-Há Hill.

座落於望廈山山頂上著名的 19 世紀式

的炮台堡壘,被茂密的灌木林隱隱遮蓋。這

座從未被使用便已遭廢棄的炮台保留約半個

世紀後,在 1970 年,一名年青的葡國軍官

由於對當時位於南灣海濱地區 ─ 崗頂 ─

的軍人宿舍感到不滿意,遂建議在望廈山炮

台附近建造一個新的兵營。

Surrounded by a patchwork of early Buddhist temples, commanding spectacular views of the Pearl River, the Fort again took up military residents, secluded and shielded this time in its grounds and gardens. The "Red Carnation Revolution" in Portugal, in 1974, would again make residence in Mong-Há grounds short lived, when all the military were called home. After 1979 when the Macau Government Tourist Office took over the operation, turning it into a Pousada*, the barracks used to house overseas civil servants, was adapted as a training unit for the Hotel and Tourism Training School that would later merge into IFT. When the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) was formed in 1995, the Pousada de Mong-Há opened its doors to the public and reinforced its purpose as a training unit, being entirely run by IFT students.

Pousada de Mong-Há has 20 rooms of deluxe and suite categories, each with its own individual characters, furnished with traditional oriental artwork and fixtures, blending East and West to make our guests' stay that touch more authentic and memorable.

The Educational Restaurant is a training unit for the hotel and culinary students of IFT. IFT encourages Macao's future hoteliers to put theories into practice and supports their endeavors to serve guests at international standards.

8 Campus facilities 學院設施

8.1 Communication channels 溝通渠道 Each registered degree student is assigned a free email account and a free network account during their study at IFT. Notice boards are installed throughout the campus while e-notice board is also frequently used. The campus is also covered by wireless facility.

8.2 Computer Laboratory and Multimedia Laboratory 電腦室及多媒體電腦室 All computers in both laboratories are networked. Commonly used software and specialised training packages are available. Students can use it during opening hours should no class be held there.

全部電腦室內所有電腦均已連線,並配置常用應用程式及培訓專用軟

件。學生可於課餘開放時段使用。

8.3 Lockers 儲物櫃 Lockers are provided for students to store their personal belongings. These lockers are available for rental at an annual fee of MOP100. 校內設有儲物櫃供學生存放個人物品,每個儲物櫃租金為每學

年澳門幣 100 圓。

8.4 Multimedia Library 多媒體圖書館 The Library subscribes reference books, periodicals and multimedia materials (CD-ROMs, Cassettes, etc.). The computers are connected to the internet and one is installed with the Library system for searching reference materials. A section is also assigned for audio-visual purposes. Students may make photocopies at the Multimedia Library on a self-service basis.

8.5 Sports facilities 體育設施 Sports facilities like gymnasium, indoor and outdoor multipurpose courts and squash court are also available.

8.6 Student Hostel 學生宿舍

Students requesting assistance to find accommodation will be placed in Student Hostel, subject to availability. 非本地學生如需住宿服務,可申請入住學生宿舍,申請是否接

納需視乎宿位情況而定。

8.7 Windows Cafeteria 員工及學生餐廳 Windows Cafeteria is open to students and staff during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Besides providing full meals, Windows also offers snacks, soft drinks, and desserts. All the food and beverages items are at a very special price. Other facilities at your disposal are the magazine corner, the message inn, the enlightenment board and the entertainment centre.

9 Student Activites 學生活動

9.1 English Centre 英語中心 The English Centre (EC) for students has been in operation since academic year 2009/10. It provides two lines of service for IFT registered students requiring additional English language support:

(1) Individual Tutorial Sessions: individual students sign-up for a 20 minute session to receive assistance in a specific problem area. The tutorial service will be available on a daily basis at designated times in both the mornings and afternoons. The language staff will facilitate the accommodation of this service (e.g. we will be able to accommodate up to 50 students/ week). A weekly sign-up roster will be posted in IFTMoodle (an interactive, online platform that we are in the process of initiating), to allow students easy registration for sessions. Reports of the kind of help requested and the intervention provided will be maintained so that we can better monitor common problems that students are facing. In asking students to come with a specific task it will be possible to provide for their needs most effectively and assist them to focus on one specific area of development at a time so that they can be supported to overcome problems one step at a time (versus being overwhelmed with the enormity of how far they still need to go). There will be no limit to the number of sessions a student can sign up for throughout the academic year.

(1) 個別指導班

此為 20 分鐘的個別指導班,每天上午

及下午於特設時段內進行,學生可按個別需

要尋求協助。英語導師為學生安排接見時段

(每週可達 50 名學生)。學生只需透過

IFTMoodle 進行簡易登記,學年內可多次登

記。導師亦會把所有個案及相應措施編成報

告,以便了解學生主要面對的共同難題。指

導班讓學生以針對式對問題尋求協助,能使

導師更有效回應他們需要,引導他們逐步解

決難題 (相對一下子要有大躍進來得有

效)。學生除可自發性報名外,教職員亦可向

「英語中心」轉介有需要的學生參加。

Suggested tasks that could be addressed in a 20 minute tutorial session: - Understanding and brainstorming ideas for a given

assignment - Organizing ideas for an oral presentation or a piece

of writing - Completing an outline for a given assignment - Establishing a plan of action to complete a

task/assignment - Guidance in completing either an introduction or

conclusion to an assignment - Building support for an argument or a topic - Assistance in revising an assignment - Assistance in understanding an article / reading

passage…etc.

(2) Language Skills Workshops: These will take the form of weekly 1-2 hours general workshop sessions addressing specific language topics relevant to all students which will be offered on a rotational basis and for which up to 20 students (depending on the topic) could register at a time. Workshop times would be determined by the availability of students registered and sessions that prove popular could be expanded and/or offered more frequently to accommodate the needs of the community.

(2) 語言技巧工作坊

工作坊以循環形式推出,每週 1 至 2 小

時,內容就大部份學生面對的難題而定,每

9.2 Extra-curricular activities 課餘活動 Apart from studying at the Institute, students are recommended to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities, such as technical visits, fairs, exhibitions, workshops, tournaments, language learning, to name a few, as an integral part of their studies. The costs incurred by these activities are to be borne by students on a case-by-case basis as required.

9.3 Student Union 學生會 With the continuous support from the Institute, Student Union (SU) keeps on providing various recreational and academic activities to students. SU is ready to face the challenges, conform to the constitution, strive more benefits for students and act as a bridge between the Institute and the student body.

10 Counselling Services 輔導服務

10.1 Student Counselling 學生輔導 Counselling services are offered to assist students with various matters. Students who are bothered with matters like study difficulties, career development, further studies or even personal matters, are welcome to seek advice or assistance from Student Counsellors. Student Counsellors also act as one communication channel between the Institute and the students, reflecting students’ opinions to the Institute, and conveying the Institute’s principles to the students.

Another service provided is job search, both paid or voluntary, part-time or full-time. Student Counsellors help the Institute as well as other organisations recruit helpers for different functions, activities, surveys and full-time positions. For students looking for employments, the Student Counsellors frequently keep them informed of the availability.
