1 General

In this document the new features of MTpro version 3.3.0.0 as compared to the previous version 3.2.2.0 are described.

The MTpro update to version 3.3.0.0 can be downloaded from the Internet by calling the update function in the MTpro help menu. As a prerequisite MTpro must be installed locally and you will need administrator privileges on your computer. Depending on the settings in the options menu, MTpro will check regularly, whether new updates are available. To update MTpro manually, click on “check for updates…” in the Help menu and follow the instructions of the update wizard.

2 New contents and functions of the base soft-ware

2.1 Integration of VarioFlow chain conveyor calcula-tion software in MTpro

With help of the VarioFlow chain calculation software engine torques required for a conveyor and resulting chain tension loads can be calculated in order to find the appropriate number of drives or conveyor length. With the MTpro in-tegration the calculation can now be called right from within the layout de-signer. Apart from a manual mode to enter the conveyor layout into the calcu-lation, now the programme is able to read in the conveyor layout from the lay-out designer, thus avoiding additional work for manual data acquisition.

There are two different ways to initiate chain calculation:

1. If a VF/VFS layout was selected in LayoutDesigner, the layout data is included in the chain calculation. All parameters that are already de-fined in the layout are automatically entered in the chain calculation

and can be supplemented by parameters that cannot be derived from the layout. The modified data are saved in the layout and can be used for subsequent calculations.

2. If a layout has not been selected, you can open a previously exported project or create a new project without information from Layout De-signer. All system-specific data must then be entered manually before a calculation can be performed.

Further details on the application and operation of the chain calculation soft-ware can be found in the programme’s help menu.

2.2 User defined components (user products)

MTpro now offers the option to integrate your own products (user products) in MTpro. This allows you to take advantage of the complete functionality of MTpro, including the creation of parts lists and CAD models, as well as plan-ning in LayoutDesigner with in-house components. The user products option is only available with a valid LayoutDesigner license.

The following types of user products are supported:

Accessories: a component with order list and price information but without a CAD model.

Fixed: a component with a static CAD model (in SAT or STEP format), order list and price information.

Profile: a component with a CAD model in variable length including or-der list information and price calculation.

Box: a rectangular building block of a variable length, width and height, with order list information and price calculation.

The user products are stored in a specific catalog within the MTpro product hierarchy. They can be used in Layout Designer as well as being exported to any CAD system.

A more detailed description how to define and use user products in MTpro can be found on our web site www.boschrexroth.com/mtpro.

2.3 Download of dimensioned drawings for strut pro-files

In MTpro version 3.3 for each CAD model of a strut profile a dimensioned drawing in pdf format can be generated. This service is especially interesting for users who need shop floor drawings of profiles with individual machining options like bores or milled-out portions.

Your computer must be connected to the Internet to generate dimensioned profile drawings.

Configure the profile’s CAD model within the MTpro CAD configurator. In the CAD preview click on the right mouse button. This will open the context menu for CAD models. Select the command “Show dimensioned profile drawings”. MTpro will then download the associated drawing from the Rexroth web server and display it in the PDF viewer.

The same function can also be used in the order list. Moreover, in an order list several profile drawings can be downloaded in one go. In the order list select those lines with profiles, for which a dimensioned drawing is required. Then open the context menu with a click on the right mouse button and select the command “Show dimensioned profile drawings”. MTpro will download all se-lected drawings from the Rexroth web server and display these as individual pdf documents.

Please note that dimensional drawings can only be generated for strut profiles and not for any other CAD models.

3 Layout Designer news

3.1 New components and functions in TS2plus

3.1.1 Exact mounting position

In the Layout Designer it is now possible to move components like ID anten-nas, stoppers, leg sets etc. into a defined position on the section profile. Se-lect the component (e.g. a leg set) and enter the desired distance from the beginning of the section under Properties -> Mounting.

3.1.2 TFE Transfer-Function-Entity

In MTpro 3.3 it is now possible to insert transport control elements for a specific transfer function (outfeed/infeed to transversal/ longitudinal section etc.) in one entity.

A TFE consists of several transport control elements, which are grouped in an assembly.

TFEs can be used with any lift transverse unit on any section.

To insert a TFE the required TFE has to be dragged onto the lift transverse unit at the crossing. When the TFE snaps in, the section’s pallet size is automatically detected and the transport control elements are placed accordingly.

ATTENTION: You can snap any TFE to any lift transverse unit, even if the chosen transport function is inappropriate in this situation.

3.1.3 Positioning unit PE 2 and Lift-positioning unit HP 2/L

In the TS2plus menu Positioning/orientation the postioning unit PE 2 and the lift-positioning unit HP 2/L were added. These elements can be used with all TS 2plus sections.

3.1.5 Formation of assemblies in TS2plus

In the TS 2plus system assemblies are now automatically built, consisting of section units, lift transverse units, leg sets and connected accessories like stoppers, identification systems etc. Thus complete section units can be se-lected in one go.

This makes it much easier to separate two connected section units like longi-tudinal and transversal conveyors. To select an assembled selection, first click on the complete conveyor. Then double-click on the desired section unit. The selected section unit can now be moved and disconnected from the main sec-tion (see picture). Also, after selection of the section unit, the common proper-ties of that section can be modified.
