• Students learn to construct Mathematical Graphs of Functions with Tai Chi Math.

Materials Needed

• Graph Paper, calculators, paper, colored pencils, colored markers, digital/video camera

Procedure

• Learn and Demonstrate whole, part, and team, frozen, and dynamically animated techniques of a graph

• Take digital pictures, and movies of the form

• Construct a graph using graph paper, and pencil

• In teams, play charades with the graphs created

Linear Transformations(Squeeze and move)

• Y=x

• Y=5x

• Y=5x+2

• Y=5x-2

• Y=-5x

• Y=-5x+2

• Y=-5x-2

• Y=x

• Y=1/5*x

• Y=1/5*x+2

• Y=1/5*x-2

• Y=-1/5*x

Quadratic Transformations(Squeeze and move)

• Y=x²

• Y=5x²

• Y=5x²+2
