Platform

Libertarians believe in the individual rights of the people. They seek a world of liberty; a world which everyone is sovereign of their own lives , because only through freedom can prosperity be realized. Libertarians want a government who protects our well being , but does not take part in economic based issues.

Political PerspectiveThe protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is

established to protect individual rights and to prevent the violation of rights by the government.ISSUESNATIONAL DEFENSE

Libertarians support the maintenance of an adequate military to defend the United States against assault. The United States should avoid being involved in alliances and in foreign affairs. Libertarians oppose any form of obligatory national service.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY AND INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS The defense of the country requires that we have sufficient intelligence to detect and to

counter threats to domestic security. This requirement must not take priority over maintaining the civil liberties of our citizens. The Constitution and Bill of Rights shall not be suspended even during time of war. Libertarians oppose the government's use of secret classifications to keep from the public, that the public should have, especially those that show that the government has violated the law.

FREE TRADE AND MIGRATION Libertarians support the removal of governmental restrictions on free trade. Political freedom

and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably forced by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands for limited border security, against those who pose a credible threat to health or property.

Economic Perspective Libertarians want all members of society to have many

opportunities to achieve economic success. The role of government in the economic world is to protect property rights, judge disputes, and provide a legal structure in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

Budget & Economy• Reduce taxes, spending, and eliminate controls on trade.• Pass constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.Tax Reform• Repeal the income tax and abolish the IRS.• Repeal all income taxes, & the 16th Amendment. Jobs• Union activity by choice only.

Social Perspective Social perspective A Libertarian believes in Individual responsibility. Because of this, issues that depend on

providing equality for the mass are seen differently. Libertarians believe in equality by fair decision. Pro self-reliance and very limited government is what libertarians follow. Cutting the government out of the social world makes it equal in a way that only people who uphold personal responsibility and sovereignty can find justifying. This worlds in Liberal because by understanding the decisions and perspective of Libertarians, their influence revolves around equality by self-reliability.

Issues: Rights and Discrimination: Libertarians embrace the concept that we are born with certain rights, but they reject the idea that certain obligations should be forced upon another in order to fulfill that right. Libertarians proclaim racism as irrational and repulsive. When dealing with rights government should not have the authority to base rights based on the color of skin, gender, sexual orientation, origin, age, financial background, or political choice.

Education: The government shouldn’t be involved in education as much as they are now. The diversity and distribution of scholars should be up for the people to decide. Parents should be more involved and have more authority in their children’s lives, without the need for government interference. Education should be by their choice and if decided, should also be covered by the parent for better quality education. Quality and diversity is the ultimate goal for a libertarian.

Cultural Perspective Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live. Because they

want a system that encourages all people to choose what they want for their life that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way. They are based on the moral principle of self-ownership and promote individual liberty and seek to minimize the role of the state.

Expression and CommunicationThey favor the freedom to engage in or abstain from any religious activities that do not violate the rights of others. Libertarians oppose government actions which either aid or attack any religion. Personal privacyLibertarians support the rights recognized by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. Protection from unreasonable search and seizure should include records held by third parties, such as email, medical, and library records. Personal RelationshipsSexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government's treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships. AbortionRecognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, Libertarians believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration. Libertarian Party is Conservative in the Cultural World because they believe that people have

their choice to live the way they want regardless of government.
